Magic mushrooms create a hyperconnected brain

Magic mushrooms create a hyperconnected brain

Magic mushrooms may give users trippy experiences by creating a hyperconnected brain.

The active ingredient in the psychedelic drug, psilocybin, seems to completely disrupt the normal communication networks in the brain, by connecting "brain regions that don't normally talk together," said study co-author Paul Expert, a physicist at King's College London.

One has to be under the influence of magic mushrooms to understand that article.

The say magic mushrooms do wonders for the clinically depressed. There are also studies showing that taking just 1 dose (probably about half an eighth), causes you to have a more positive attitude for a full year after consumption.

I agree with those assertions.   Those days are long behind me - but a mild dose of mushrooms in a controlled natural environment will absolutely open your mind to positive possibilities as well as make you see colors that you never knew existed.

It's about unlocking your brain's ability to see and hear things that are around you constantly - but you aren't able to perceive them via normal brain function.  Your memory of the experience will alter your perception of the things you saw/heard/felt differently for months afterward.

Can it go too far?  Yes.  Can your mind play tricks on you when it does go too far? Absolutely.  But there are definitely benefits to be had with careful moderation.

Wow...does it make you all goofy acting like most stuff does, or just more aware? You'd think there would be actual medical uses for it...but I guess since you can't patent it that it's not worth it.

Things you might find funny normally are definitely intensified. So, yeah…. it can get goofy for a while.

The best part about 'shrooms is they are free, if you know where a cow pasture is.

When I was young there was a great spot in Orange Park where the western end of Wells Road used to dead end at the railroad tracks. It's hard to imagine cow pastures being there given how much that area is developed now.

Most anyone who has done mushrooms could have probably told you what these [airquotes]scientists[/airquotes] claim to have figured out.

oh ya, and on my list of absolute worst places to be during a mushroom trip, an MRI may be at the absolute top.

My father participated in experimental LSD treatments with the VA years ago. He said it was wild.

I've dropped acid quite a few times but have never done mushrooms. Are they about the same?

I had a co-worker from Sweden whose father was some famous psychologist that was involved in some experiments with LSD. It's funny to hear him talk about it.

More visuals with acid in my experience. More euphoria with fungi.
