Why isn't Marqise Lee playing?
|
Hurns gets most of the reps as the #3 WR.
Lee gets most reps when he fakes and end-around. I counted only a handful of routes he actually ran this Sunday. Why aren't we forcing him to play? We invested a lot in him, I think we should see what we have in him (similar theory to why other rookies are starting).... Just doesn't make much sense to me.

Hurns is better?
“An empty vessel makes the loudest sound, so they that have the least wit are the greatest babblers.”. - Plato
I think he's having a hard time with routes. Earlier in the season Bradley said something about that.
Snap count from BCC: Wide receivers: Allen Robinson (65), Cecil Shorts (62), Allen Hurns (39), Marqise Lee (22), and Ace Sanders (3) Hurns and Robinson have impressed enough to not take snaps away from them. Robinson was in for 65/72 plays so he's the number 1 guy right now with Shorts at number 2. I think Lee played as number 1 and number 2 in some of the early season games and didn't really do much whereas Robinson and Hurns have made plays.

IT WAS ALWAYS THE JAGS
Quote:Hurns is better? This. I think Lee could end up being a good deep threat in time, but other guys have stepped up much quicker than he has. I think the other guys we have are much more physical, which helps them. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
I'm assuming Marqise is having a hard time digesting the playbook, once he accomplishes that it will allow him to play a lot faster.

Quote:Hurns is better? Maybe, but I don't believe he's significantly better. He's definitely not nearly as talented. He's playing because he knows the playbook better, which is about the only good reason I see. One is a high 2nd round pick. The other was undrafted. I think we should put more effort into getting the high 2nd round pick on the field. It's not like Hurns has been really impressive in the past 3-4 games either.

Hurns had an advantage because this is his college offense and his college OC. He has played well for a rookie UDFA. Lee has had two injuries already this season. And from what we heard from Bradley this preseason, there have been other issues with him. Could be not knowing the playbook.
Quote:What? On draft day. We could've lost ARob to another team who we picked after Lee, who is the better receiver.

It really shows the skills and confidence ARob has with this team when he gets more snaps than the veteran Shorts.... Love him.
Quote:Hurns gets most of the reps as the #3 WR. Once Lee fully digest the playbook he's going to be a beast in this league, he's as sudden as Antonio Brown with more vertical explosiveness, his hands aren't nearly as good as Browns, but they're good enough.
I didnt expect much from Lee in his rookie season and so far thats what is happening. I think next off season will also help him a lot. Add in that we might lose Shorts so that could push Lee into third. At least he is getting game day experience tho so thats a plus.
His game is held back more by the things rookies typically need to progress at as professionals. He doesn't have the big body of Allen Robinson or even Hurns.
Plus, it has been implied a few times that he's a slower learner. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!

Didn't he pick up some personal fouls after showing his [BLEEP] a couple times after plays. I wonder if it's attitude that's holding him back?
