Blaked Bortles is a Monster

#1

Highest third down completion percentage in the entire league, highest completion percentage for rookie in NFL history at 67.8, and this is all while playing behind an inept offensive line, five rookies on offense, no running game, and is plagued by drops. We've all made these excuses for Gabbert, but Gabbert couldn't rise above it. It took Gabbert 21 starts to get 300 yards and Blake did it in game three. We have a quarterback. He looks like a veteran. Even after interceptions and sacks, he comes back with no fear. its been 4 games, but he's come out the gate fast.

Doesn't it seem like he makes a WOW play every game? The field reversal and completion vs. the Colts. The spin move vs. the Chargers, and running through two defenders and threw the ball down the field to Todman in which he dropped a 48 yard TD

You know he is going to be elite just by all the trash he is playing with.  An average or game manager would not be able to function on this team.  He made them competitive all the way until the end 2 weeks in a row.  I feel sorry for the guy.  He's a one man show out there.  We'd be all jumping from the wells fargo or burning the stadium down by now if BB wasn't on our team.

There was no "WoW" plays against Pittsburgh, but that was not Bortles fault, IMO. That was the result of overconservatism on Fisch's fault/ game plan.

Overall, I agree that Bortles is a future stud QB.

With absolutely no run game. He'd probably be more effective if he could get some help from the run game. He's 18 yards from being our leading rusher wnile missing the first 2.5 games. I'd draft a running back in the first. Imagine Todd Gurley and Bortles. Gurley who I prepare to Marshawn Lynch. Either way, he's playing with not much but he elevates our entire team

Like all the screen plays called in a ROW yesterday, as well...

Dude, wake up. You could install Adrian Peterson on this team and his YPC would suck. The ZBS scheme that we have is a large part of the problem. The RB we have are a lesser part of the problem.

All 3 would be servicable if the blocking scheme were effective.

Got nothing to do with scheme.  The guys blockin in key areas are not good at power blocking.  Luke and Linder.  They're good at the second level but not the first.  I'd expect the running game to pick up when Marcedes comes back.  No help for the Oline coming this season so it doesn't really matter.

How exactly did you prepare him to be Lynch?

Huh

I'm his trainer. Obviously. We study Beastmode after every game. No, I meant compare. Haha at first I didn't know what you were talking about

I assume that word was supposed to be compare.

Should we have utilized our awesome running game more?

Regarding Bortles' Pro Day:  I still get a kick out of Gus hugging Bortles like a dude reuniting with his wife after a 2-year stint in Iraq.

I want a picture of that!

Bortles told Bradley during the combine, "If the draft was like college recruiting, I would sign with you today."

Agree wholeheartedly. It's not working and the Jaguars have zero backs that can take advantage of it. It should be dumped at the end of the season

There are too many complicated schemes for a team with this much of a hole of talent to take advantage of, and that's why we're winless right now.

THERE IS A SKELETON INSIDE OF YOU.

RIGHT NOW. THIS IS NOT A JOKE.

I wonder if Gus will scrap the zone blocking after bye week.
