Unfortunatley the Browns still were able to score a lot after he went out, but I agree their run game will suck in Jacksonville.

Thats almost as bad as the Patriots losing Ridley and their starting ILB in the same game. 

 

The Jets also lost two starters in week # 6,  as CB Dee Milliner suffered a torn Achilles tendon and LG Brian Winters tore his ACL.   With the Jets and Patriots playing against each other on Thursday Night,   depth will be tested on both sides.

MLB Jerod Mayo,  arguably their best front 7 player.   This is the second season in a row Mayo suffered a season ending injury.

I think football injuries are as interesting as they are bad. Apparently other people don't because nobody replied to my thread about the decision to play or not play while injured.

 

Does anyone else think how teams handle injuries from getting players off the field to clearing them to play is worth discussing?

It's worth discussing.  But keep in mind,  each person has a priority list in what they want to discuss.

 

From a Jaguars standpoint,  being that the team is going through a very difficult 6 game stretch coupled with the results from the last few seasons,  it's more than understandable that fans of the team are focused on what it will take for a turnaround.

As much as I hate Alex Mack getting hurt, I am hoping the Jaguars can take advantage of the backup center (who is actually a guard) to sack Brian Hoyer all day.

Injuries are an unfortunate part of football.   The opposition,  in this case the Jaguars,  will and should do everything within the rules to try to take an advantage of the loss of Alex Mack.   The Browns have to try to compensate not only from the physical components of what Mack brought to the table but also the mental/  communication components.    Even one injury on an Offensive Line can lead to the entire line suffering as a result.   Sometimes when a Center for example is injured,  a Guard tries to compensate.   Then he gets out of position.   

 

The Jaguars are catching the Browns at the right time,  from the standpoint that the adjustment for the loss of Mack probably will be more smooth in the weeks ahead than in the first full game w/o Mack.

I am sure it is even worse when the center gets hurt because not all linemen can snap a football.
