Why didnt we

#1

why didnt we put a waiver claim in on Khari Fortt who was cut by the saints? A 4th round pick this year coming off the IR. He was a warm body which means he is already better than 3/4ths of our current linebackers.

He's a rookie that has been out for nearly two months with an injury.

How would you have any idea how good he is?

Caldwell tried him out in madden, and it didn't work out that great.

Thus, no waiver claim.

What lies behind us, and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.

This may have been why:

Quote:Weaknesses

Frame is nearly maxed out. Very average key-and-diagnose skills slow his play speed. Does not always trust what he sees -- takes false steps and hesitates to trigger. Inconsistent run fits and field leverage. Can be stronger at the point of attack. Did not make enough splash plays. Has underachiever traits. Motivation and durability should be looked into.

Don't we already have enough of that on defense?

Simple...because we are improving every week. Dont need any setbacks.

What's interesting enough is that the Saints outright released him and he wasn't taking up a roster spot with the IR to return designation. No word as to why.
