If The Playoffs Started Today, Who Do You Have In?

Along with the rankings and games of interest I think I will add this to the weekly mix of things to discuss. This one could be the most interesting.

My four, in order.

1. Oklahoma - Most complete team all around so far.

2. Alabama - Big question was offense with that QB spot. I think they have a good one, and question answered.

3. FSU - Still undefeated reigning national champ, can't keep them out.

4. Oregon - Best win of the four so far. The Big 10/11/12/13/14 sucks, but Michigan St. is really good.

That would be mine as well. I'd bump FSU down to 4 though. We haven't looked the part of the #1 team so far.

1. Alabama

2. Oklahoma

3. Oregon

4. TAMU

With the way FSU is playing on defense they are going to lose a game.

A question regarding the new College Football playoff format:

Can more than one team from a given Conference qualify for the 4 team playoff?

David, as long as they are in the playoff committee's final top four then two teams from the same conference can be in the playoff.

Thanks, Matt!

Of all of the major Professional and College Sports organizations in North America,   from my perspective College Football has by far the best playoff system.   I hope the NCAA doesn't expand the playoffs beyond 4 teams.    The way it is now,  while one loss could prove very costly,   two losses much more likely than not would end a team's chances of being in the 4 team playoff.   It puts a great emphasis on each regular season game.

Bama aint on the bubble?  Nor is Texas AM?  They destroyed #9 South Carolina

I'd have to go with one PAC 12 team (Oregon) and at LEAST two SEC teams, with the nod to Bama and Texas AM.  4th would be FSU

SEC West should have at least one representative, that division is tougher than most conferences.  Pac 12 South is getting robbed too by not having a bonafide playoff contender.  It should just be a round robin between Pac 12 south and SEC West (kidding).

I don't even know what the playoff format and rules are. I just know it is four teams. How do they determine which four teams get in?

They have a selection committee that meets each week and vote on a top four. I think they start meeting around week 8 or so.

Well, we can pick a new four next week. I almost kept them off my list too originally.

Texas A&M is losing this weekend to Miss. St.

Bama will lose to Auburn and LSU and not make the championship game.

Nebraska???? No shot. They're getting beat tomorrow. They're an average football team in a crap conference.

Thank God. One reason the BCS sucked was a stupid rule about conferences with three top 12 teams.

I hope this system works out OK until it is expanded.

Not disagreeing with you, but I heard their quarterback is a Heisman candidate.
