#1

Outside linebackers coach Joey Porters was arrested for aggravated assault, simple assault, resisting arrest, public intoxication, and terrist threats after their playoff win.

Is anyone surprised at this?

I'm trying to make myself more informed and less opinionated.

Stop saying whatever stupid thing you're talking about and pay attention to all the interesting things I have to say!

2 felonies, 3 misdemeanors

He's been charged with threatening to kill someone and then trying to do it. At least, that's what the charges indicate.

Apparently, he's known for acting this way.

Seems like a nice guy.

Have you seen my baseball?

I actually met him one time in Hawaii and asked for an autograph.  I got the autograph, but he wasn't a very nice person.

JNG, have you read the police report? The charges seem excessive to me but I'd be curious to hear your opinion.

Just did. Yeah, it sounds excessive.

The officer could probably do felony battery against an officer, but the officer needs a "deadly weapon" or "instrument" that is likely to cause serious bodily harm or harm to get aggravated assault. Porter could probably do that to the small officer (5'6'' 145 lbs), but he didn't do anything that was likely to cause serious injury.

There's no mention of threatening violence on that day, either. They said something about how he threatened the bouncer on a previous date, but there's no mention of witnesses. You need a witness if you don't have a recording.

Every thing else is good though.

I don't see this going to trial with those felonies still on the docket.

That's what I was thinking as well. May be just a little message being sent.

Terrorist not terrist. Porter not Porters.

But, yeah...what a buffoon. I would fire him immediately. This type of thing could effect a temporary trying to win a championship.

Mike Tomlin would be smart to part ways as soon as he posts bail.
