Blake Bortles Debut - Impressed

#1

Blake Bortles is going to be very good. He has great confidence and poise. Playing in SD is very tough. They beat Seattle a couple weeks ago.

A few rookie mistakes that are very correctable, but I felt confident with the ball in his hands in his FIRST start. I'm impressed and I'm excited for the future.

Bortles is going to make rookie mistakes, but we really need to surround him with talent.  This is the least talented roster in the NFL and yet we have a ton of cap room.

Expected rookie mistakes, but also showed good poise, good scrambling ability, and the ability to extend plays.

I would venture to say this roster has less talent than the top half of the SEC.

Everything around him is awful aside from Denard R, Allen R and Hurns.

Really just need a lot of improvement on the OL, the WR's will get better with time

I agree hurns has big play ability but A Rob looks quality right now.

He is who we thought he is.  Now if we can get him a good supporting team.

Im glad we didnt let him get sacked 10 times. But our Defense didnt help at all... But he did fine in his start IMO.

Color me impressed. He's a special talent. I'm not looking down on those ints. It was a tough match up against a good defense in hostile territory.

29/37  253yds  1 TD  -  2INT

Not too shabby behind that abysmal and inexperienced line / rookie receivers and 5 dropped passes.

This would be an idiotic and failed venture.

And this is why I'm having a hard time getting my britches in a wad over the loss.

He gives plays a chance with his mobility. That is the biggest difference. We still lack in areas and can do better. With Ace and Pasztor back in we should be better. The Chargers are a really good team and will be around at the end. The defense isn't doing much this season.... can't get off the field in crucial moments, can't get turnovers, and we ended up losing TOP battle that we were winning in the first half. That is killer.

No pain, no gain.
