I think most folks here already noticed or knew that. He's never really been all that great in pass coverage period. This goes back to when he first got here honestly. I mentioned this in a different thread. If he was back on a 3 - 4 scheme. He'd eat the running game alive without fear of having to be overly worried with pass coverage and with more stout veterans behind him. Other than that, he's just another guy that plays inside. $9.5M is a pretty big cap hit. That's Gene Smith's fault though....

Even Gene's moves that appeared solid at the time end up falling apart.  Man i used to support his work, crazy.  Seeing Gabbert on the field, then shaking my head at a 3rd round punter did it.  He had me convinced Alualu was the next Marcus Stroud.  Because of Gene, i'm much more hesitant in my excitement these days.

I think this fan base is pretty level headed about where Poz is these days.  Hopefully he can improve.
