The Jaguars need to scheme like Jets defensively

#1

Put everybody at the line of scrimmage and feast or famin as Dilfer explained

Play a casino type defense.

We are so much more behind other teams on defense. Even if our offense is averaging 30 points per game, we would still be 0-3.

I agree.  I would rather live hard and die fast than the slow death this defense gets every week.   The 4 man pass rush is not enough and it's not getting home.  Send the house sometimes or send 6.

Tired of seeing other teams get these long drives on us for the score.  Atleast if we were blitzing more we could force some turnovers instead of letting opposing teams kill us slowly.

Jets Defensive roster >>>>>> Jags Defensive roster

The only position group where the Jags might have an advantage would be in the secondary but I even question that now.

Quick, other than Sheldon Richardson, name a player on defense without google.

Name a DB, name a LB.

They have a great scheme that plays casino and gambles.

I think we should do it

Hell, based on these past 3 games we don't even make weekly adjustments.

The scheme isn't the problem. We play the same scheme as Seattle, and it works well for them. It's the talent on our defense that's the problem. We don't have a pass rush, our linebackers can't cover or shed blocks, our corners look lost, and our safeties are always in no mans land.

The second best 3-4 end in the league in Mo Wilkerson. One of the most underrated nose tackles in the league in Harrison. Richardson who you said I can't name.

Their front seven is very good, which allows them to blitz on passing downs because they can actually create passing downs by stopping the run.

Wilkerson, Coples and Milliner are the first to come to mind, but then, I live in NYC and see more Jets coverage than some of you guys.

I admittedly don't know anything about their linebackers.

The majority of their success comes from the pass rush. That's pretty obvious.  The Jags don't have pass rushers like Richardson, Wilkerson and Coples.

Not too mention Coples, Wilkerson, Richardson, and Milliner were all 1st round picks. They have a ton of talent on defense.

Because Clemons/Branch/ Ryan Davis are going to get pressure like the three first round picks -Coples/Wilkerson/Richardson.

They have 6 sacks compared to the jets trio with 3.5.

I can also name Babin and Dawan Landry who were both cut here...

BTW the reason they crowd the line of scrimmage like that is more about trying to confuse the offense (which doesn't work most of the time), they're still getting into normal coverages post snap.

If you bring more guys than they can block then you hurry the QB.

No matter who plays on our team.

Simple football scheme of math. Oh wait...our coach doesnt adjust

To the naysayers lets keep playing the same style of defense and get torched every week

You know what I love about our Head Coach Gus Bradley, he doesnt hide from accountability he realizes that the Defense should be much better and he acknowledges that he has to make changes to improve it.

The auto spot on linebackers must improve and he called it out in his press conference.
