Phillip Rivers vs Jags D

#1

Coming off of the Week 3 matchup of Manning vs Seattle D, the NFL has another showcase game in Week 4 with Phillip Rivers vs the Jags Defense (aka Seattle South).

Rivers has an average QBR of 108.3 against the Seattle, Buffalo, and Arizona.  Do you think he'll be able to figure out our defensive schemes?  Will he be confused by our LEO and OTTO positions?

Should be a great matchup.

A great matchup for Rivers to improve his QBR if our pass rush is anemic again.

Rivers will shred our zone. Fortunately, Rivers likes to burn the clock so hopefully the final score doesn't look so lopsided.

Nobody thought that the Redskins would be playing this well or that the Eagles Offense wouldnt miss a beat without Jackson (especially considering Noles poor performance during Preseason) but is it just me or does it seem like the

Jaguars schedule has been really difficult for a team that barely won four games last season?

A blowout on the road against the Eagles & Redskins (top Offense & then Top Defense in the league), and then playing the Colts well most of us figured that would be a loss but we at least expected it to be close...

and now the Chargers whom have looked really good so far in the season against other teams..

True, but they have done that in each game they've played. Cousins had 400 yards yesterday, Luck has been great all year even thought they've lost. Foles had a bad half but he's ripped it up since too. Just a tough stretch to start, where's Fitzpatrick and Lil' Brother when you need them?

It could get ugly, but that isn't my focus though. Focus is on how Bortles looks with a full week of practice with the 1's. Tough spot for him to debut as the starter, but I think he will be just fine.

Having said that, we lose by 10. SD hardly has any tape to go on and I think Bortles shows out.

I believe we should take a page out of Arkansas State's book and play dead on every pass attempt. Seeing guys fall out may shock and rattle Rivers. It is so stupid it's flawless

Gates will ball out as usual, but I do think it'll be closer with better output from the offense.  If they can keep the defense off the field it could be a winnable game.  San Diego's defense is decent but they're not world beating, so you never know what Bortles will be able to do with a whole week taking starters reps in practice.  He threw for over 200 yards with 2td's/2int's in only one half yesterday and moved the ball on just about all of his drives.

Finishing drives and keeping the defense fresh will be the key.

Defense is gonna have a good game IMO. Bortles and the O gonna move the ball and keep the D upbeat and playing hard cause they know now they have a real NFL QB who can make it happen. For the first time all season Im optimistic.

I was realistically optimistic to play the clots in our home opener.  @ SD, not so much.
