Justin Blackmon and Ace Sanders

(This post was last modified: 09-21-2014, 09:25 PM by K-Dub.)

Overall, I thought Chad Henne did the best he could with the limited talent he had at his disposal out there thru 3 games without CS3 for the first 2. With Justin Blackmon and Ace Sanders not being in the lineup the Jags outside of Allen Hurns had nothing going on offense. However, it was good to see CS3 and Allen Robinson show signs today after Bortles entered the game. Even though Blackmon is a knucklehead, I still think he would be the Jags best talent as a pass catcher when his suspension is lifted. I'm hoping this kid turns it around, but it's good that the younger guys are getting some serious reps at the moment. Ace just gives this team a guy that can be multi-dimensional on offense and have a huge impact on special teams something this team is sorely missing.

The future is bright now with Blake at the helm, the more playmakers he has at his disposal the better. Just wanted to know what you guys thought of the future prospect for the Jags going forward as an offense? Blackmon, CS3, Hurns, Ace, Lee, Robinson would be a sick receiving core for Blake to grow with. I guess the main question have the Jags given up on Blackmon especially since the emergence of Allen Hurns?

Blackmon has no intentions to come back to the NFL. He won't even communicate with the team and is still having off the field issues. I doubt he returns, but it would be awesome if he did come back.

Yea, this kid is different that's for sure. I didn't know he refuses to communicate with the team. That's not good...smh...so much potential wasted!

There is still a 10% chance he applies for re-instatement to get back in the NFL after this season, and shows up to the Jaguar facility. He is still suspended for this season. So hopefully he is just waiting and doesn't want to create drama/talk to the media.

Have you seen the tape of him getting arrested? He looks like he's staying in shape so I think its in his plan to come back at some point. Whether he gets the chance or not is a different story.

Yes he did.

I agree with you about Ace.  I think he has a skill set nobody else has on the team has right now.  We all know it would be great to have Blackmon back.  But he's free to do whatever he wants and that may not be football at least for a while.

Ace is so short that he can disappear. I look forward to more shenanigans.

Ace coming back is exciting. No more Mike Brown or Kerry Taylor. Hoping Lee, Robinson, Hurns and Shorts III stay healthy too. That's a solid receiving core. Im still thinking if Lee is not on the IR he can develop into a good player.

i think mike brown fumbled his way off the roster this week

ace has more in the return game and as a receiver than him, not sure if brown would be eligible for the practice squad but doubt it

shorts hurns lee robinson sanders is a good 5 in my head with sanders the punt returner

Brown has dropped at least 30% of his targets. Add in the fumble and I can't see him sticking around much longer.

thats badddd

be interested to know hurns's percentage if you have a second or a link?

guy makes big plays but does seem to have a case of the dropsicles or is it just exaggerated in my head... would guess about 16 %?

Maybe B14ckmon will open the lines of communication with B5 starting, I don't blame him for being standoffish with Henne/Gabbert, no point getting injured following that freak show.

10% -- where did that number come from?

Just wondering if anyone has heard when Blackmon is coming back? I'm guessing prolly by the Browns game prolly.

Can't wait to see him out there. I'm guess he's gotten really better not playing football and smoking and drinking for a year.

I'm think he's prolly a prowbowler.

I was just estimating, but Brown has 4 receptions thus far and I remember 3 drops if I'm not mistaken - so that percentage would obviously be higher.

Hurns has 7 receptions and probably around 3 drops as well - but also has three TDs, and he's a rookie surprise impact player. Brown was a PS project that seems to have peaked at "inconsistent" in his third year.   I've been pulling for him, but it doesn't look good at the moment.

If Blackmon doesn't make a comeback, then it will be the all time waste of talent in the history of this franchise.

Yes, Blackmon should be back by the Cleveland game.

I wouldnt worry about that....

I think its more likely that Justin Blackmon becomes a Colorado sponser of some products...
