Who thinks Bortles is a transcendent player?
|
I know it's way early to know for sure, but he sure looks like he could be. This team desperately needs one and having one at the QB position as we all know changes the fortune of a franchise. Hard to think the last one we drafted was MJD and that was in 2006.

i really do, I think he is the chosen one. I've bought the Bortles hype, and I've got the teal koolaid flowing through me like an I.V. right now.

Bortles is something special. Hopefully the team gets a lot of motivation for next week. Really want to see this team compete again... It's been far too long.

Welcome to the craziest Jaguars board on the Internet. You are right: Bortles clearly has the "it" factor we have been lacking for too long. Bradley said it was no coincidence that the other 10 offensive players played better when Bortles was the quarterback. Bortles said, "My job was . . . to provide a spark." That he did. We can only get better - especially on offense - from here on out.

Wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy to early to tell.
But man he does some things out there...that rollout where he reversed field showed ELITE athleticism and reaction time. If he learns to rein in his gunslinger mentality a little bit, he's gonna be very good and he's gonna win us a lot of games.
Make the Jags Great Again
Blake Bortles......YOU'RE FIRED! Dave Caldwell.....YOU'RE FIRED!
I know it waa garbage time, but the offense was never like it was the 2nd half with Henne at the helm. Honestly, Henne benefited from Hurns and Lewis making plays. I don't mind the picks, at least he will throw a pass further than five yards
"Expect for the best. Prepare for the worst. Capitalize on what comes."
I sure hope so that's what this franchise needs. He appears to have that "it" factor.
Quote:Wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy to early to tell. No, we need a gunslinger mentality. We just don't need him trying to do too much. Bortles said after the game that was his mistake on the second interception so I think it will be relatively easy to coach that out. Not only the rollout, but also the fake spike on the touchdown pass to Shorts. CBS even replayed that part of it. Pure genius. We show less advertisements to registered users. I think he has the mental makeup, but he needs to continue to work on his footwork because it got sloppy at times leading to accuracy issues and other problems.
Watch how much better the O-line and the defense starts looking if he keeps making plays.

There was an immediate change in the offense. Plays were there to be made and suddenly the blocking and running game was at least somewhat effective. Doesn't do much for the defense but at least maybe keeps them off the field a bit longer. But they have to find a way to get themselves off the field more often because they really do suck and that is where the proven talent is.
No pain, no gain.
It seemed to me when Bortles stepped in the other offensive players were trying a little harder to make plays. Or maybe I was seeing things because I was roasted pretty good after the first half sunshine. Either way I was glad to be there to witness his first NFL playing time. Well worth the sunburn.
