It isn't working. Why?

Lack of talent, play calling, rookies, out coached etc.

Because it's a gimmicky scheme created so that GMs would not have to waste high draft picks on O-line. To supplement decent linemen, it requires a decisive quarterback and a quick one-cut back, both of which the Jaguars are lacking.

It isn't working because we don't have a good running back. Gerhart is a back up or change up type back.

The Oline is a bunchof throw aways except luke

From what I've heard, the ZBS hasn't been working in quite some time. Don't expect it to now.

Haven't we had the ZBS in place since before Caldwell/Fisch/Bradely came in?

No, we started doing it last year.

So far its produced some of the worst numbers in the running game in franchise history.

Yeah, I wasn't sure on when we started it or anything but I've heard a ton of how it was extremely bad.

I for one don't understand how the coaches don't pick up on stuff like this, but we (if not me, other fans) do on a regular basis?

Because the Broncos had a streak of success with it and now teams believe it's the easy way out.

In reality, the stars need to align for you to have the correct personnel to run a zone blocking scheme because all five of your down linemen need to be great decision makers and you need them to develop comfort of the scheme.

Unfortunately, it's a scheme too complicated for the current personnel, and a vanilla blocking scheme would at least keep our QB from smashing his face in the dirt 10 times a game.

Well damn, I guess if they got it from Denver, that would explain why they brought in Beadles right?

No blocking scheme works when there is 8/9 guys in the box.

And the defense has no confidence in your ability to go down field or pick up first downs.  When you don't execute a play in the other team's half of the field to late in the game, You definitely have confidence.
