***Official Jaguars @ Eagles Game Day Thread***

(This post was last modified: 09-07-2014, 12:48 AM by AmeliaIsland.)

2014 NFL regular season has finally arrived, Jaguars fans!  Smile   Our 2014 Jacksonville Jaguars begin on the road as they play their first regular season game at Philadelphia for the first time since 2006.   Jaguars defeated the Eagles in the first visit since entering the NFL in 1995, winning 13-6 back on October 29, 2006.

Chad Henne is the Jaguars opening week QB, but don't be suprises if Jags Head Coach Gus Bradley replaces with rookie Blake Bortles into the game if he struggles, and the Jags are behind in the scoreboard.

Jaguars also leads the Eagles in the all-time series 3 games to 1, although Philadelphia defeated Jacksonville in the last meeting played at EverBank Field, winning 28-3 back on September 26, 2010.  Jaguars though outscored the Eagles in the previous four games 82 points to 80.

Andrew Catalon, Steve Beuerlein, and Steve Tasker are announcing the live TV game commentary for the NFL On CBS, seen regionally including locally on WTEV CBS Channel 47, live on HD.

Frank Frangie is in his first year announcing the live radio game play-by-announcing Jaguars games, along with Jeff Lageman and former Jaguars offensive lineman Tony Boselli providing the game analysis, and sideline reporter Rick Ballou, simulcast on Jaguars flagship stations WJXL 1010AM and 92.5FM, and the Jaguars Radio Network.

Partly cloudy and sunny skies at 71 degrees, is the local game forecast inside Lincoln Financial Field for the 1:05PM Eastern Standard Time kickoff, along with 57% humidity, 0% precipitation, and northern winds at 10 miles per hour.

Jaguars are wearing their matching black jerseys and pants, while the Eagles are wearing their white jerseys, and forest green pants.

NO injuries, and let's hope our Jaguars can pull the upset at Philly, and win their first game in 2014!  GO JAGUARS!!!!    B)    Smile   ^_^

Wow, am I up that late?

First of all, how did a bad word get in the thread title where there normally are three astericks? A moderator needs to fix that.

Second, is there a way to find out which referee will officiate the game before kickoff?

Now that is out of the way, so I can get to the good part. GO JAGUARS!

Try that again, Screwdriver. Can you say it without getting censored?

I can't wait for kickoff. It seems like all I have been doing is waiting for a televised game to start or, in the case of Florida, an explanation for Channel 69/1069 not having the game. Thank God this isn't a problem on Sundays.

Two straight days I am rooting against the Eagles - Eastern Michigan and Philadelphia. I am more concerned about this one going bad. GO JAGUARS!

It's gonna be nasty. We aren't all in.

No pain, no gain.

I meant  and intended to post three asterisks on the right side of the thread title, hope the mods can still correct it before gametime.

Still, this Jaguars team has the talent to improve and win more than four games in 2014!   GO JAGUARS!   Big Grin

The Eagles are sleeping on the Jags, however we have so much chin and inexperience that we'll lose anyways

#9

I think we're going to get our asterisks kicked. But seriously, the first quarter is going to be shaky for us. Hopefully the WRs get over their nerves and settle in quickly. Our D is going to make us proud. They will keep the score in check while the O sorts things out. Of course that hinges on which Henne steps out of the locker room.

Those asterisks will get ya' everytime.

Defense going to win this one for us.

The Big Cat going to eat some bird!

GOOOO JAGS!

I don't think it matters who is refereeing, judging by the new rules enforcement, it's gonna be rainin' yella.

*TWEEEET*

"Looking at the receiver while cross-eyed. 5 yard penalty. Automatic first down."

I would be very surprised if we switched to Bortles if Henne struggles. Henne playing poorly is to be expected. If Henne inevitably throwing multiple picks, having balls swatted, or not moving the chains was the basis of Bortles' insertion then Bortles should already be named the starter.

The reason Bortles is on the bench is not due to Henne's experience or the multitude of rookie WRs, the reason is that our OL is that awful. I feel more comfortable with our receiving corps than the OL, that speaks volumes

Agreed. Henne is the crash test dummy. He should have some of those yellow and black impact sensors on the outside of his helmet.

It's week one I think we're going to conquer the world and upset the eagles!!!!! In about 5 1/2 hours I suspect reality will set in but for now I'm optimistic!

I dubbed last season the "Sophie's Choice" year. As watching the film "Sophie's Choice" would have been more uplifting than watching my beloved Jags. In case you were wondering, the Mularkey year I dubbed the "Yakety Sax" year as an endless loop of that song played in my head from kickoff to the final whistle while watching the hapless Jacksonville squad. I am filled with great optimism (and for the first time in a long time, it doesn't seem like false hope). I believe in this team (once a significant depth chart adjustment is made). Win or lose today, let's show the world we are not that sad, pathetic excuse for a football club the nation has seen the past few years.
Only a chump boos the home team!

1:00 seems to take sooo long to get here on Sundays.

One thing I loved about living on the west coast was Jaguar games started so early! Not so much now living in Jacksonville.

Does anybody actually expect us to win besides that snowwolf guy?

#19

I doubt anyone really expects us to win, but if in some way we give them a scare considering all the youth and inexperience we have at critical positions, we can feel good that we are making significant progress

I hope we win obviously but certainly don't expect it. Regardless of opponent. Henne given Sunday. Once reality sets in it will seem as nothing has changed.

No pain, no gain.
