24-13 eagles unfortunately

Shock the world
With Henne, sadly I'm thinking a 35-19 loss. If Bortles played with a better O-line, I'd give us an edge; maybe like 28-31 us. Hoping for a win though. Would love for Henne to come out gunning and everyone clicking.
GO JAGS!!!

17-16 Eagles
Still not good enough to finish drives with TD's every time. We get 4 scores to the Eagles 3, but the FG's kill us still.

Yeah, I'm gonna say 17-9... Henne's a field goal-drive producing machine, but the end zone eludes him. Defense will play stout, though, I think.
More low score predictions for the Eagles.... :ermm:
I don't get that. Do people not understand that not only did the Eagles AVERAGE over 27 PPG last season, but the Jaguars defense averaged giving up well over 25 PPG, as well. If the Jags keep the Eagles below 30, I'll be impressed/ shocked. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
34-10 Eagles. Our defense is good but per usual if they're on the field 40-45 minutes of the game it doesn't matter. We get a TD in garbage time as Henne connects with Marcedes with about 2 minutes left. There are a couple of thoughts that go into this prediction. One, we won't be as good of a team to start the year with the young play makers and spotty offensive line play. Two, it's a non-conference road game and we aren't built to beat a team like the Eagles who are just a speed threat all over the field. If you've been around you'll remember how Darren Sproles always had huge games against us when he was a Charger and I expect him to be just as dangerous. The QB conversation is just a backdrop. I don't think it really matters THIS week.
No pain, no gain.
Eagles 31 - Jags 13
.... if Bortles was starting Eagles 34 - 24 (the extra 3 points for the Eagles results from them having to keep their foot on the gas in a closer game with Bortles starting).
Quote:More low score predictions for the Eagles.... :ermm: A couple thoughts... At first, I agreed with you about the Eagles offense. They run more plays, therefore, more chances to score. However, I think it's impossible to compare last year's Eagles offense and this year's Jaguars defense. The Eagles caught lightning in a bottle with Nick Foles hot streak last season. He finished the preseason with a 6.3 YPA and threw three picks, which is more than he had all last season. I just don't see him having the same year as last year, especially with Desean Jackson gone. He may not have score all the points, but he always drew a double team, which left Riley Cooper open to have a big year. That will be Foles' biggest loss. Also, it's safe to say that the Jaguars defense has been upgraded from last year's unit. We've upgraded the pass rush, which will give the corners more breathing room. Plus, our LB corps has gotten faster on the edges. We may not be as good as the steel curtain of the 1970's, but this will be a much more upgraded defense, who played very well together in the preseason. Now, we're not going to score enough points to win, but I think we'll still be in the game going into the 4th quarter.
It appears the prevailing thought here is that we really don't have any hope with Henne at the helm.
.... at least he's not Kaaya -- lol We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Eagles 23 Jaguars 17.
McCoy has a rushing and receiving td but we force two or more field goal attempts near or in the redzone.
Q1: 3-3
Q2: 6-3 Jags Q3: 10-6 Eagles Q4: 24 - 9 Eagles In Q4, there is a pivotal point in the game where it is 17-6. Jags are on the 15 yard line and we run, pass, run to give us 4th and 1. Scobee kicks for 17-9. This is the point everyone has had enough of Henne's ineptitude and are longing for Bortles. Defense has played well up to this point, but they are just too gassed from "3 and out" Henne. Eagles score one more time and Henne tries to go deep for the 1st time in the game and throws a game ending INT. Score looks much worse on paper than it really was. Quote:Eagles 35 Eagles 5 touchdowns and we score 2? How do you see henne leading 5 scoring possessions and the Eagles with five touchdowns? I'm honestly curious to see your breakdown, pass run special teams defense.. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!

I think the Jaguars defense will prove to be better than the 450 points it gave up last season.....but I don't see the personnel improvements that will make this upgrade very significant. Perhaps we can drop that number to the high 380's or so for this year. A team like the Eagles can and probably will still drop 35+ on them.

I'm honestly curious to see your breakdown, pass run special teams defense.. Whats really so hard to see about that? Henne certainly doesn't lead many TD drives, so 2 is a fair number....and the Eagles defense generally gives up a healthy amount of points as they averaged close to 23 given up per game last season. I see Gerhart with a TD either rushing or receiving from Henne. I see Robinson with a TD, probably from a pitch or reverse. And I see 3 more FG drives from Henne. The Eagles scoring 35 is certainly not anomalous for that offense. Eagles games under Kelly are generally among the highest scoring (in combined points) just about every week. Thats why you bet the "over" every week for Eagle games and usually smile on Fridays (pay day). Quote:I think the Jaguars defense will prove to be better than the 450 points it gave up last season.....but I don't see the personnel improvements that will make this upgrade very significant. No one is safe.
