Sounds like an Urban style move...this is pretty weak!

Can you really tell a kid that he has to miss two weeks of football instead of one because their first game was terminated? If they play the game again during the bye or something, then I'll start a protest and question the integrity. But it's not their fault that the game was terminated. All the kids lost out on a game.

think about this statement, and then think about what Muschamp is doing, and re-think your position.

Why was the game stopped?

Edit: never mind, found it.

I understand, it's a tough position to be in, I just don't think it's enough to penalize the kid's an extra game because the refs terminated the game. Their coach told his kids that they'd be back next week, I think upholding that to your kids is more important than looking like a soft disciplinary.

"Hey so, since the game was suspended, you're also out for next week, too. Yeah, I know, I said you'd be back for the E. Michigan game." Don't see anything wrong with this approach.

How about you think about your statement? Only the suspended players missed out on the pregame warmups, band playing, team introductions, and kickoff. Just being at the stadium is something the players certainly had to hate missing, especially before the thunderstorm started. So yeah, the suspension did hurt a little bit - just not as much as it would have if the game was played at 3:30.

I loved Urban and his selective suspensions. Suspend a guy three games, but not consecutive. Basically he suspended guys for cupcake games only.

They all do it. It all depends on the specific team that you root for. Your team = it's Ok. Rival Team = Worst crime in NCAA

Yeah, I noticed only OHio State haters criticized Urban Meyer for how he punished Carlos Hyde, who missed three cupcake games. I never agreed with them about that not being bad enough.

Another issue is the depth chart. After Jim Tressel kicked two players off the team, my dad said they would have kept their roster spots if they were starters. How many coaches do that?

No they "don't all do it"...and I would not accept the "everyone else does it" from my children...let alone a grown man......maybe it is all about integrity.....and Will like Urban appears to have very little!...but if they win games Gator Nation will turn a blind eye.

Your first point makes sense, but you are wrong about the second one. One of the first things Muschamp did when he got the job was kick out Janoris Jenkins, a chronic off-field troublemaker. Many of the Gators fans on this board praised him for that.

Muschamp certainly cleaned house and righted many wrongs that Urban created within the program. No doubt about that.

I can pretty much give you an example from every college program that has done this in the past....but its only Florida?

There is something in the water in Gainesville that seems to negatively affect integrity and class.

Im so offended

When will there be justice in this world?  If Muschamp doesn't make these guys sit or kick them off the team, I've lost all hope in humanity.

Gators fans don't know about every other college football team in America. Many of them only know about the Gators. So how can you expect them to know it is not just Florida?

BTW here is an idea nobody has mentioned yet: suspending the players again on October 25. That way we can really say they missed the Idaho game. Would you do that if you were Muschamp?
