Last year we had the 5th youngest roster, in 2012 it was 16th.

That's a sign of the rebuild. If the youth movement pans out, it hopefully means sustained success.

Raiders are the oldest. And their rebuild started a year earlier.

The Raiders seem like they are rebuilding every year

True. But with McKenzie it was supposed to be a new day after Al died. But it has been a disaster.

Good observation Bon Jagley. I think McKenzie is still there, isn't he? What a mess they are.

For now he is. Unless Carr becomes the next Russell Wilson, I don't see how he survives this season.

Maybe Al had his head frozen like are Williams, and they still consult the Popsicle on personnel decisions?

Or, maybe he was like Steve Jobs, and he basically laid out a personnel roadmap for a decade after he was gone?

I'm surprised the Clots are the 4th oldest team in the league. I guess Mathis and Wayne are driving the average age up.

Are they just talking about the active 53 or including guys on PUP, IR, and the PS? What about suspended players around the league? Do they count?

I'm not sure if players on PUP and/ or IR are included.   PS players aren't included,  as the PS' weren't established when the article was written.

In addition,  their Kicker is probably the oldest current player in the NFL.

If he laid out a decade long personnel roadmap, I bet it looks like this:

2012: Just win baby

2013: Just win some more baby

2014: If You didn't win over the last two years baby.... draft a QB...

2015: Sugar

2016: Spice

2017: And Everything Nice

2018: Draft the fastest WR with your 1st round pick (No exceptions, I don't care if it's the No. 1 pick, speed wins baby)

2019: Move the team to L.A

2020: Move the team back to Oakland

2021: Repeat 2012 plan....

Just pointing out that if you look at the actual numbers, the different between #1 and #32 this year is 25.09 vs 27.00. And that is actually is the widest margin yet with 2013 at (#1) 24.98 vs (#32) 26.11 and 2012 at (#1) 25.32 vs (#32) 26.38.

What I'm saying is that I'm not sure how big a deal this really is. May be statistically significant, but probably not by much.

A better metric would be to look at age of starting line ups or players who get a certain number of snaps.
