For those wanting Henne to start week one, please explain the benefits to Bortles and the team

So let Gus and Dave tell it we took a project qb with the 3rd pick in the draft. I thought you draft those in the 2nd and 3rd rounds of the draft not top 5 in the 1st.

Idk he's a junior ya gotta kinda look at it like his senior year. He looks pretty close to ready so I think we're using the term "project" loosely.

Quote:1.you want him working on his flaws his first year. Footwork. Mechanics. Adjust to NFL speed in practice. If you put him in as starter then he will revert to old bad habits in game situations. Fix his flaws in his first year and it will pay off the rest of his career.

2. Offensive line is not looking good.

Point # 1 is especially true because of Point # 2.

Here's my argument with that position.  How can the #3 pick be so deeply flawed that he requires a year of rebuilding before he's ready to play? Where is it cast in stone that correcting footwork and mechanics takes a full season?

You can't adjust to game speed in practice because practice just isn't like a game.

O line doesn't look good at all, but doesn't that just sound like an excuse for a decision already made for other reasons?  Will a better QB help minimize the O line deficiencies? Yes.

Would you sit Brady, Brees, Manning or Rodgers because of O line problems?  No.

When you get into the endzone, act like you've been there before.
