How did Allen Hurns go undrafted?
|
Seriously, the kid is legit. Looking at his college tape he was good there too and his stats for his final year back it up (62 catches for 1162 yards and 18.7 yards per catch and 6 TDs). I don't get how he flew under the radar and landed with us, feels too good to be true.

I hear you, but it was probably just the sum of this class being a really deep WR class. Lucky we got him though.
He had a knock on him for his slight build, and his inability to get separation against the press. He also had a knee issue that may have contributed. Aside from those items, I think JJ is probably right above. It was a deep class at that position this year. He could wind up being a real steal if he is able to continue to impress.
Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
He's had a bit of an injury issue, he's not known for physicality and he has a light frame for a WR
Combining that with the deep WR class and I don't think it's much of a surprise that he went undrafted.
He went undrafted because none 32 of the NFL teams selected him in any of the 7 rounds that they had an opportunity to. :geek:

because his middle name is Bernard, i dont know... hope he continues to improve..
It happens every year. Guys slip through the cracks.
Hopefully Hurns is one of those guys.
He played under offensive coordinator Jedd Fisch in Miami, so I expect we'll see a lot of him this preseason.
I think he is one of those guys who is extremely smart and that can't really be seen on tape. He isn't extraordinarily fast, strong, or shifty. You look at him and don't see anything special. Then he gets out on the field and is somehow better than the others.

He was banged up for the better part of his college career. It's nice to have him here and healthy.

Would love to look back and ask how we got so lucky to get him... Only time will tell.
Quote:Caldwell just flat out beasting on his acquisitions.This.Dave has done outstanding these last 2 years
I'm trying to find where I read about him... it was said when the ball wasn't coming his way he didn't really run his routes... it's like he had already given up on the play and his down field blocking was weak...
