Alex Boone on the Trade Block

#1

Are the Jaguars one of the interested teams in pro bowl 49ers RG Alex Boone?

As I said in the other thread, I'd consider maybe trading them a current player, but not a draft pick in return for Boone.

Doesn't make much sense for us. We signed one guard to a big contract and drafted another in the 3rd round, they're our future at the position. Anyways, San Francisco is going to want a decent haul for a ProBowler.

Hilarious. Must be a boring day on the bar stool, right?
Coughlin when asked if winning will be a focus: "What the hell else is there? This is nice and dandy, but winning is what all this is about."

I think Linder may prove to be greater value in his rookie contract than trading for a pro-bowler.

Now, if they had a center on the block.....

No, he did play left tackle at Ohio State though.

Not sure, but I think they used to line him up as a blocking TE in SF under Singletary.  So - probably not.

He would easily be our best guard and maybe our best lineman. I'd be fine with letting Linder play out his rookie deal behind Boone and then making a decision in which direction to go at that point.

Move Linder to center, and you would get 2 upgrades in 1 move.

maybe. No guarantee until he actually played C well and proven that it was indeed 2 upgrades.

Linder was identified by NFLdraftscout as a guard for 1st position, and center as a 2nd position.  No idea if he could actually play the spot, but if he could.....

It looks like NFL teams are lining up to offer trade but given that his replacement was truly bad in their first game I doubt the 49ers are even remotely interested in trading. Sorry to burst bubbles.

I'm just surprised it wasn't Marcedes he was trying to trade.

Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

With that contract we'd have to give someone else a draft choice to take Marcedes off out hands.
