Man Burns Down House Trying To Kill Spider With Homemade Flamethrower

He's just an ordinary guy, burning down the house.

Fire officials said a West Seattle man on a quixotic quest to rid his home of a vile spider ended up torching his abode on Tuesday evening.

Maybe he just has sucky aim?

What lies behind us, and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.

I took out a wasp in my garage with carb cleaner.... Seemed right to me. I tried to swat it but he kept flying too close to my HO fluorescent lights and hugging the ceiling. So I sprayed his butt. He dropped fast.

Should have used a flame thrower or some napalm or something. He would have dropped faster. :woot:

Heck, a couple of sticks of dynamite would do the trick.

Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Good idea. Are those dangly things attached to them fuses? Or do you just light the whole shoe on fire?

If it's my son's shoe he just removes it, tosses it into the room, and then slams the door shut. Soon, everything is dead.

We've become soft as a nation.  If there was an app that would kill bugs with your smart phone, you'd never have to leave the couch.

I couldn't agree more. I read a news story a few days ago where some men found a poisonous snake in a toilet. Granted, it's a little dangerous but with some improvised tools and some caution they should be able to remove it themselves. What did they do? Called 911. A lady cop arrived and removed the offending snake with two police batons. I would have rather been bitten.

911? I hope she slapped the crap out of those fools afterwards.

Spiders don't bother me too much, probably because farming pretty much forces you not to be bothered by them too much... snakes are ok until you duck your head into a vine canopy and one is sitting there a few inches from your mug. The two animals that scare me the most on my ranch are beavers and hawks.

Beavers are surprisingly aggressive in the water and hawks? Silent death from above? No thanks. Not a big fan of raccoons either really, and very very occasionally we get a mountain lion which can be a little unsettling. Long story short, the rabid mammals are way worse than the creepy crawlies.
