Jacksonville Jaguars Greatest Regular Season Games
|
For me, my favorite regular season games have to be:
-Jags vs the Falcons in the regular season finale of 1996. And Morten Anderson's missed field goal which sent us to the playoffs. - Jags vs the Patriots in 1996 at Foxborough. Jags eventually lost in OT. -Jags vs Steelers at Three River Stadium in 1997. Steelers won a classic, hard fought game in OT 23-17. - Jags vs Ravens in 2000 at Baltimore. - Jags vs the Colts in 2003. Jags won 28-23. And in the process got their first win ever against the Colts. - Jags vs Green Bay in 2004. Famous game where Donovan Darius clotheslined Robert Fergusons helmet off and nearly paralyzed him. - Jags vs Steelers MNF game in 2006. -Jags vs Steelers at Heinz Field in 2007. - Jags vs Colts in 2010. Scobee kicked a franchise record 59 yard field goal to win the game 31-28. Which games do you guys think are some of the greatest games the Jags have ever played in the regular season? The Jags/Packers game will always be special to me. I didn't get to watch the entire game, because I was at Disney eating at a formal dinner, but one of the waiters kept checking the score for me in the kitchen.
The 375 rushing yard game against the colts.
Every time you turned around MJD or Fred Taylor were going for another long run.
Fred's monster game at Three Rivers in 2000. He had no business running like that during that point of that season. Just an amazing display by him.
The Green Bay game in 2004. The coldest one in team history and there was no way they were going to win, except Taylor rolled up over 100 yards on the ground and Favre threw three Interceptions. I can still remember Jimmy's touchdown in the second quarter, he just abused that DB. The 9-0 game. Jimmy rolling up 290+ yards against the "greatest Defense ever"... but the team still losing. The Sunday night game vs. Cincinnati where Chad Johnson broke down and cried because "someone" named Rashean Mathis held him to less than 60 yards receiving. Tampa Bay and Fred's run to slam the door. There are lots of others.
I'm trying to make myself more informed and less opinionated.
Stop saying whatever stupid thing you're talking about and pay attention to all the interesting things I have to say!

I'm pretty partial to the Falcons vs Jags game in 1996, primarily because, when Morton Andersen missed that FG, that was the most elation I have ever felt, anytime, anywhere. Better than sex, better than drugs, better than anything ever.
Jags/Steelers at home in 1995. The expansion team bettered Goliath.

I was at the Scobee 59 Yard winner against the colts. Decided to give my second ticket to my Dad to go with me. Best decision I think I've made as far as games go. We'll remember that field goal and Scobee's victory lap forever.
Quote:The 375 rushing yard game against the colts. This is my favorite as well. Way to beat the eventual Super Bowl champs two consecutive years. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Quote:The 375 rushing yard game against the colts. Even Pearman had 75 yards rushing. It was ridiculous....ly awesome.
No commercial messages in sigs
The anderson miss was such a great moment. I remember my dad had given up on them I was sitting there crying assuming they had blown it, and than he misses that kick.
Quote:Even Pearman had 75 yards rushing. It was ridiculous....ly awesome. I remember the first drive. Manning went right down the field. He threw a perfect deep ball to Stokely, who dropped it in the end zone. It was a sign of things to come. When MJD ran the second half kickoff back for a TD, the stadium was about as loud as I can remember.
Everyone forgets about our Monday Night Football game against Baltimore where we shut them out 9-0.
I remember the stadium staying filled throughout the entire game, which should change soon hopefully. Everyone was hyped I remember the play that ended the game. Joe Flacco throws over the middle, and Dwight Lowery leaps into the air and intercepts it. I remember everyone thinking he was our future after that game, haha. But it was nice to shut them out on MNF. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! Quote:Everyone forgets about our Monday Night Football game against Baltimore where we shut them out 9-0. I remember that game being 9-0 at one point, but I don't think it finished that way.. Wasn't that Gabbert's first career win?
Quote:Everyone forgets about our Monday Night Football game against Baltimore where we shut them out 9-0.It was 12-7, although we did lead 9-0 at a point. Also, it was Drew Coleman who had the game sealing INT. Quote:Morten's miss. That was mine as well. I remember sitting in the corner of the NEZ watching the fans behind the goal posts waiting to see their reaction. As soon as they erupted, that place went nuts. Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Any night game vs Pitt.
They're all riveting!

As soon as they erupted, that place went nuts.I'm sure I've said this before, but I never saw it. I was sitting in my seat with my head buried in my hands. It was pretty evident what had happened though. It didn't take long for my mood to change. ![]() |
