Bortles disappoints in minicamp after signing contract with the team

Ladies and Gentlemen, this is why Bortles is the designated backup for the upcoming season. And not a QB who is being thrown into the deep end in his rookie season like Gabbert was.

Bradley and Caldwell saw this coming. Letting Bortles learn from Henne for a year or two proves to be the smartest move for the long term future of the team.

Not worried about it. He's fixing his mechanics and isnt comfortable with it yet, but he's working at it. Have you ever played basketball and have a coach try and change your jump shot mechanics to make it better? It takes a while to get used to and feels extremely awkward at first until eventually starts coming natural.

Let's be honest here does anyone on this mesaage have a clue about nfl QB mechanics? Highly doubt it.

One bad day and the media starts over reacting. Surprised?

Who wrote this hit piece?  It just says by "The Sports Exchange".  If you're going to write an article with the sole purpose of discrediting an athlete (and the organization for selecting him) have the balls to take credit for it.

BB is going to have bad practices.

He is also going to make bad plays and have bad games when he starts playing. I know it's a shock to some, but that is what's going to happen so be prepared for it.

How he responds after a bad play and more importantly, a bad game will be the important factor on what kind of QB he will turn out to be and how far he can take the Jags.

I survived the Gus Bradley Error.

Henne has looked like a borderline JV player at practice for years. BB has a learning curve as all rookies do, but this is overreaction.
Only a chump boos the home team!

For those that didn't read the article....

He was 12 for 18 @ 66%.

On par with Henne.

The article heading is very misleading.

For those who DID read the article, those were his #'s on Tuesday's practice, the day before he signed his contract.

It was his Wed's practice, a few hours after signing his rookie deal, that was subpar, although the article did say "it wasn't disastrous", it just wasn't to the standard that Bortles or Bradley were looking to establish.

I didn't see any #'s listed in the article, but then again it's just PRACTICE, with Bortles working on new mechanics.

I survived the Gus Bradley Error.

Just to let you know, That line is from the day before the practice that the writer is commenting on. I.e. he was writing about wednesday's practice, and that line was from tuesday. And he was actually pretty upbeat about Bortles.

No need for overreactions guys, I think everyone sees what we see. He just had one down day.

Yes, it's improvement, but it's Blaine Gabbert 2012 level improvement. - Pirkster

Its June, and he's a rookie RELAX!

He is expected to be the starter anyways, so why be so concered about him learning?

Learn from Henne? What, pray tell, is he going to 'learn from Henne'?

If he isn't starting the year, and I doubt he will be, it will be because he needs to work on mechanics. It has nothing to do with learning anything from Henne.
