Not worried about it. He's fixing his mechanics and isnt comfortable with it yet, but he's working at it. Have you ever played basketball and have a coach try and change your jump shot mechanics to make it better? It takes a while to get used to and feels extremely awkward at first until eventually starts coming natural.

He is also going to make bad plays and have bad games when he starts playing. I know it's a shock to some, but that is what's going to happen so be prepared for it.

 

How he responds after a bad play and more importantly, a bad game will be the important factor on what kind of QB he will turn out to be and how far he can take the Jags.

For those who DID read the article, those were his #'s on Tuesday's practice, the day before he signed his contract.

 

It was his Wed's practice, a few hours after signing his rookie deal, that was subpar, although the article did say "it wasn't disastrous", it just wasn't to the standard that Bortles or Bradley were looking to establish.

 

I didn't see any #'s listed in the article, but then again it's just PRACTICE, with Bortles working on new mechanics.

Just to let you know, That line is from the day before the practice that the writer is commenting on. I.e. he was writing about wednesday's practice, and that line was from tuesday. And he was actually pretty upbeat about Bortles.

 

No need for overreactions guys, I think everyone sees what we see. He just had one down day.

He is expected to be the starter anyways, so why be so concered about him learning?

If he isn't starting the year, and I doubt he will be, it will be because he needs to work on mechanics. It has nothing to do with learning anything from Henne.
