all i heard em say about us was that gabbert has more of a supporting cast in sf than he ever did in jax, which is true.... other than that, they were just gawking about how bad gabbert looked while he was out there.

It was highway robbery when Dave got a 6th round pick for Gabbert

Quote:Kaep can get hurt....because Josh Johnson is gonna be the back up.  If Harbaugh keeps Gabs as the backup, he needs to be drug tested by the NFL IMMEDIATELY!

If Johnson keeps on taking hits like he has in this game they may not even have him.

Then the Niners are doomed...DOOMED I TELL YOU!

I dont even think the 49ers make the playoffs this year. Bowman is out, Whitner is gone, Justin Smith is about to turn 35, Aldon Smith will be out the first half of the year on suspension.  The defense will be nowhere near as good IMO.   Thats just the defense.  Kap is overrated, Boone contract situation, Gore is 31 now, etc....  Not to mention their division is the best in the league.

This may all be true, but don't forget they have a darn good head coach, even if he is a little whacko at times.

You just can't underestimate the influence of a really good head coach on his team.

I survived the Gus Bradley Error.

OH and btw, someone needs to change the title of this thread.

It is very misleading.

Now excuse me while I go to the Niner's board and see what they have to say about their new backup QB  BG.

I can only imagine.

Quote:Personally I would like to see Gabbert enjoy a modicum of success in SF. He was thrown into such a thoroughly crappy situation here. I won't say he deserves it, but it sure would be a nice turn for the guy.

I agree! I don't understand the hate on the guy...it wasn't like he was a jerk or sucked on purpose.
What in the Wide Wide World of Sports is agoin' on here???

he ruined the first round of a draft and wasted three years of time for  my favorite franchise.... i've hated people for less... lol jk, its nothing personal, he's prolly a good guy but as a player, the guy is just garbage... that's really all anyone is saying.

In all fairness he had a decent clean up tackle on his interception.

Stick him at Safety. Problem solved, problem staying solved.

LOL.  Gabbert only ruined the first round of one draft.

Gene Smith ruined the first round of 3 consecutive drafts.  You must really hate Gene Smith.

When you get into the endzone, act like you've been there before.

He played awful.

The 49ers, as a team, have to be concerned. Even if it is Pre-Season. They got their doors blown off in every area. Their defense was shredded, their offense was anemic, and even with Gabbert's poor performance, no one behind him did anything of note either.

I'd be really worried if Kaep got hurt. (If I were a 9er fan)

It was a Gabbert rip fest from time to time yesterday. Right before half was over and the studio guys sent it back to the game they said the only happy fans in that first half were Jags fans.

This all goes back to the fact that Gabbert doesn't like to be hit.  For the most part, the only thing he can throw (and not very good) is the 2 second slant play.  When it's time for him to convert on a 3rd and 10 he dumps it off 4 yards down the field. for a 5 yard gain.   Oh, he did go downfield once and got picked off.   His game is pathetic !!!   SF will get someone off of the waiver wire.
