Jags to introduce poolside seats and cabanas: taunted by Colbert

#1

What do you think about this? Also of it belongs in a different section I apologize. Anyways, I like the vision Khan has but this seems kinda silly. I guess it's certainly unique and Florida is probably a good place for it but it seems like it just dosent belong in a football stadium.

Its a way to generate revenue. I'm sure those poolside seats/ cabana's will be very expensive and most likely WILL sell.

Is it something that I'll ever be able to afford and would I ever bother with something like that? No.....but kudos to Khan/ Lamping for creative ways to try and spur income for this team!

Plus, I think it will be something that will look good/ reflect well on TV when they pan up to the big wigs enjoying the comforts and the pleasing asthetics (sp?) that the mini "tropical paradise" will bring.

Upside to #Jaguars owner Shad Khan putting in cabanas and a pool: it replaces the tiresome national narrative of tarps covering seats.

$12,000 a seat and the commenters on ESPN said jag fans can fill the pools with our tears (which was actually pretty funny). It just seems silly but it's certainly creative. Maybe I can pick up a job as a life guard or pool boy at everbank.

$12,000 a seat?

Its $12,000 for a group of 50 which includes access to the pools and cabanas. Food and beverage is also included.

I do think its silly I mean what about the WAVE Machine? It seems so fitting in a football game it can go when people do the wave in the stadium?

I guess you have to resort to gimicks to sell tickets

Yeah, people have a tendency to ignore the facts. It's a revenue generator that's targeting companies who want to book events at the stadium for their employees. The individual tickets are $350 per game.

Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

why did you quote me saying $12000 a seat? I didn't say that - -

edit: ok, I think you were trying to respond to what I said, but the method you used made it look like I was saying that.

Its better to respond in color when doing that, it helps avoid the confusion.

I wasent ignoring the fact.. Just misread it. no doubt it will generate revenue just something I have to get used too. I guess the Miami Marlins also have a pool too.

not sure. I'm working off my iPhone and sometimes it puts the text in the original quotes text. I'll edit that out for ya.

And the Arizona Diamondbacks, IIRC.

It will be interesting to see if the companies/people that buy seats for that area will actually use the pool.

I would imagine swimming in a pool with 60 or so thousand people around you would make you feel a bit uncomfortable. I'd imagine some people have much less inhibitions than i do.

Good to see ESPN breaking news from months ago.

It amazes me how many people are reporting this today. The pool thing was announced a year ago. The cost is the only recent news and that was several weeks ago.

Two other things that are funny.

The people that ask if they can buy one ticket for the pool area. As if you can buy one ticket for a luxury box.

And those that act like it is going to be some municipal pool full of people in jean shorts and kids in water wings.

This is premium seating aimed at corporations.
