US Men's National Team vs. Nigeria Last Night

#21

Quote:I will say this...the closer you sat to the Outlaws the better.  That is a great group of fans.  They helped create the atmosphere.

When the US scored that place went nuts.

The Nigerian fans I talked with were very nice as well.  We were walking in and two big guys were in front of us, and I said you may be the only two here.  He just kept saying thats enough with his accent.  He was great.

I think there were alot more Scotland fans two years ago than Nigeria fans Saturday. Not really a surprise.

I can't imagine how electric it would have been if they had played someone like Mexico or Italy that would help sellout the place.

If we get Mexico in Jacksonville, bring your poncho.  They are known to throw trash and urine on opposing fans.

Anyone see the guy in his sailor outfit drinking out of a flask right after the National Anthem? Was watching on tv and thought it was funny that they caught him in camera.

The game was great. I loved the atmosphere and energy. Everyone was hyped up before the game. All the Nigerian fans I encountered were pretty cool too. Super friendly, and some cheered when USA scored too.

They are going to get that guy in serious trouble by posting the video of him drinking in uniform.

Who is they? I didn't see anyone forcing it down his throat.

He willingly took the flask from someone sitting next to/near him and took a swig.

They being whoever posted the video. You aren't supposed to be drinking in uniform. This could come back to bite him.

So why are "they" the ones getting him in trouble again?

Because "they" out it up permanteky for anyone to see. "They" think they are putting it up to show how cool it was that a military guy took a swig in uniform, but I doubt "they" know that he could get in serious trouble for doing that.

I seriously doubt that guy thought he would get caught on camera and then have a video of it strung up on the internet.

It was caught by national tv cameras live. You don't think that was enough? It was his decision to do so. You serious here??

I remember my Division LPO telling me something as I was about to leave on a liberty boat for Ft. Lauderdale. You see, we were required to wear our dress uniforms for that day since it was the first day of pulling in to port. My LPO told me "while you're in that uniform, act like I'm watching you the entire time. It's as if you're the only channel on my tv."

Served me rather well that day.

I'm trying to make myself more informed and less opinionated.

Stop saying whatever stupid thing you're talking about and pay attention to all the interesting things I have to say!

Not to mention it was quite easy to do. I went to a military college and we had to be in one of many unifroms during the school year just about 24/7. There was a higher standard held when doing so whether you thought someone could see you or not.

I'm not defending the guy. I just find it funny that the website thinks that they are showing how cool the guy looks, when it actuality they throwing him under the bus.

That's the point though. No one is throwing him under the bus. He threw himself under in this case.
