Bortles, Lee, & Robinson comparisons.
|
1. Blake Bortles (a mixture of Andrew Luck & Ben Roethlisberger) Bortles has the innate escape of ability of Ben, keeps his eyes downfield while going through his progressions similar to Andrew Luck. With some refinement, he should fall somewhere between these two QB's.
2. Marqise Lee (Victor Cruz with more explosion when healthy)- Lee's suddenness, ability to stop and make defenders miss while getting up to full speed quickly are similar to Cruz. If you watch Lee's 2012 highlights, he consistently outruns angles, usually, players that are doing this at the D1 level are 4.3/4.4 guys. If his knee is healthy, Marqise Lee might be the steal of the entire draft. If he declared after the 2012 season, he would've been a top 10 pick. 3. Allen Robinson (Jordy Nelson)- Similar height, weight, and overall athleticism, neither Nelson or Robinson are burners, they get separation with a larger catch radius and sneaky speed. Allen Robinson has a chance to dominate the middle of the field, and should catch a ton of back shoulder fades (similar to Nelson) for the Jaguars for years to come. I don't think you can really compare Bortles to any QB in the league right now. He's a mix of a lot of different guys. He's pretty rare when you think about it and with refining he could be special.

He knows how to scramble into space to give himself some extra time to get to the open man. He has some zip in his throws too! One negative thing i noticed is that he falls back when throwing the deep ball (sometimes due to pressure though) He has very promising.
Go Jaguars! Go Hokies!
; ; Infamous Out..
wasn't Lee compared to Julio, not the size but his talent

How about the comparison to rookies who haven't played a down in the nfl and have serious flaws.. injury and mechanical issues.

I think the issue with te deep ball is he tries to use his upper body to throw it and dosent alway plant his legs.
OP is dead on w/ Luck + Big Ben, and Lee as Victor Cruz. Those two are obvious to me.
I also think the best Robinson comp is Cruz's teammate Hakeem Nicks when he was healthy and very good, but Jordy isn't too bad either...nor are the Keenan Allen or Nuk Hopkins ones. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Bortles - I think a better Roethlisberger in 2 years is definitely probable.
Lee - A bit of a reach but I see Marvin Harrison Robinson - Reggie Wayne
Marquise Lee is built like DeSean Jackson but doesn't have Jackson's speed. Lee might be a more polished WR than DeSean was coming out of college
