Great, the ExFL again.

It's not affiliated with the NFL, they just sent out a memo to teams about the league. It's run by the same people who ran the FXFL, so I'm not even sure if this will get off of the ground.

It'll never get off the ground. They never do.

Nice, so now guys can get their brains turned to mush and get CTE for 1/100th of the pay!

I always believed the NFL needed a minor league. Most sports do. This is not exactly what I was thinking of though. This seems more like a league for older players who just can't accept the truth and move on. I was hoping this was a league for young, UDFA's to truly develop their talents.

It's their lives. If they want to take the risk, let them. It's a free country.

The NFL is getting pretty greedy. It's never enough. If you want to have a spring session why not just increase the pre-season contests by two more games to allow back-up and PS material players a chance to get acclimated in more important contests against better competition in a system they're growing familiar with?

And also, why not just add maybe another draft round to the draft? Instead of 7 rounds let's go with 8. Those end up being the guys teams would want to bank and draft on no how anyway. Or just have a small supplemental type draft for each practice squad around the NFL.

Personally, I would make a league comprised of players who were drafted by teams or signed as UDFA's, but who were cut. Maybe some guys didn't get enough chances to make plays, maybe some were overwhelmed, maybe some had injury issues. Whatever the reason, they could develop in a minor league system led by former NFL coaches. I would give each player a maximum of 3 years to be in the minor league. If they haven't been signed by an NFL team in this time period, they would no longer be eligible for the minor leagues. If it was something like this, during the spring, I would watch it.

The NFL already has a completely free minor league.
