2014 Rookie Wide Receivers

#1

Ok so we have our first year Dynasty IDP Rookie draft coming up in a weeks time, and I need a starting WR or RB.

Im picking number 3,

So the likelihood is Watkins and Evans are gone.

Who should my number 3 pick be? Im leaning towards Odell-Beckham, especially if he's drafted by the panthers, as he'll get alot of playing time, but also will be returning punts and kicks so I'm thinking he may end up as the leading rookie when all is said and done.

Thoughts?

Any tips are appreciated,

I've also looked at Albert Wilson, Carlos Hyde, Tre Mason, Eric Ebron, Bishop Sankey and  Kelvin Benjamin, though alot of these involve me trading down and in Wilsons case, probably a second round pick.

Thank you,

Jon.

I'd be careful with Beckham pending what QB he has throwing to him.  You could gamble and wait for a proven team like the 49ers or Seahawks to grab a WR.  Trading down seems ideal, if not, go Beckham but don't be overly confident that you've got a starting WR as far as production goes.

Pay close attention to where Brandin Cooks goes. I think he's got some potential for really good production if he gets on the proper roster.

Hmm Odell to the giants makes me a bit wary of taking him, cooks to the saints could be interesting.

I dunno who to pick at 3 at this point, I'm not convinced on kelvin Benjamin.

Cooks is the guy. Peyton is going to have a lot of fun cooking up plays for him.

I agree with your assessment, but just to clarify, Cooks was drafted by the New Orleans Saints. He is still in a good situation with Drew Brees and Jimmy Graham. I'd keep an eye on where Marqise Lee and Carlos Hyde are drafted tonight, though.

I was aware that he's in New Orleans. I was speaking about Sean Peyton, although I may have misspelled his last name. I think Cooks in that offense is going to be a terror.

I don't think Cooks will put up huge numbers. Colston, Stills, and Graham are going to eat up a lot of targets. At 1.03 I think I'd be taking Sankey.

How about our WRs, between Robinson and Lee:

1. Who will have a bigger immediate impact?

2. Who's more likely to become a WR1 in fantasy?

3. Who has the higher ceiling?

My team blew last year so I piled up draft picks for this class. Luckily, my biggest need is WR and this class is tantalizing. My WR depth chart (brace yourself) is:

1. Hakeem Nicks

2. Stephen Hill

3. Kenny Stills

4. Lance Moore

5. Darius Heyward-Bey

6. Keshawn Martin

7.

8.

9.

I have these picks:

1.02

1.05

2.02

2.05

2.09

2.11

3.02

4.02

5.02

6.02

Because my WR core is so depleted, I really need to land at least 1 immediate impact WR. Right now, I'm planning on:

1.02 Mike Evans

1.05 Marqise Lee

2.02 Allen Robinson

2.04 Quarterback (Bortles or Bridgewater)

2.09 BAP

2.11 BAP

Etc.

My question is it smart to hedge my bet on Lee/Robinson? I could use my extra picks to trade up from 1.05 to 1.01 and walk away with Sammy Watkins, Mike Evans, and Allen Robinson.

What do you guys think?

I'd probably pick Benjamin ahead of Lee right now if he's there.

He's there only receiver pretty much and will get alot of targets.

As regards to trading up, im not sure what the rest of your team looks like, if it's just receiver thats a need I would with 2 BAP 2nd rounds you have plenty of ammunition.

As regards to my 3 pick It's either going to be Sankey or Evans, whoever is there.

marqise lee is going to be who you want to grab if evans is gone. if youre going WR anyway.

Coughlin when asked if winning will be a focus: "What the hell else is there? This is nice and dandy, but winning is what all this is about."

Lattimer could be a hidden gem next year replacing Erik Decker for the Broncos
