If true this confirms the interview I saw a couple of months ago from Dimitroff, indicating the Falcons were not interested in going up to one, but may be interested in going up to three.


Hopefully this means the Texans are not interested in Clowney, and there will be less demand for that top pick.

John McClain the main beat guy for the Texans said the price he heard for the 1st pick was the Falcons 1st, 2nd, 4th this year and 1st next year too. If that is true I can see why the Falcons aren't interested anymore because that is absurd.

They really shouldn't give up much if they move up.  They have too many holes to be giving up a ton of picks for one person.

Agreed....though the greedy so and so in me would want the same thing if the Falcons were to call the Jaguars looking to deal up, even though I know they would never pay that.

I think Caldwell would be less greedy, but he'd be looking for some value in a trade.  He's not giving 3 away, even if it's to his buddy in Atlanta.

I doubt Atlanta would bite because of the 1st rounder next year.  But, if they truly see Clowney as a once in a generation player, they're going to have to pony up.  Otherwise, the Jags are just going to have to suffer with the consequences of drafting Clowney themselves.  As painful as that sounds, I think Caldwell would sleep well on Thursday night.
