Former Notre Dame Fighting Irish linebacker Prince Shembo has seen his draft stock take a big hit since being involved in a sexual assault case, but has maintained his innocence the entire time.



“I’m innocent,” Shembo told ESPN.com. “I didn’t do anything. I’m, pretty much, I’m the one who ended it and pretty much told the girl that we should stop, that we shouldn’t be doing this and that’s what happened. So, I don’t know.


“The reason I wanted to talk was just to clear up my name. My name was in flames, pretty much.”


That hasn’t stopped teams from showing interest in Shembo.


According to Aaron Wilson of The Baltimore Sun and The National Football Post, Shembo visited the Green Bay Packers and had private workouts for the New England Patriots, Atlanta Falcons and the Jacksonville Jaguars.


The 6’1, 253-pound Shembo had an excellent 2013, playing in every game and recording 46 tackles, five sacks, five tackles for losses, one forced fumble and 17 quarterback hurries.


Shembo will likely be drafted by a team that runs a 3-4 because he projects fit as a pass rushing outside linebacker.
