There is NO event this week at Radio City Music Hall

So I checked out what great event RCMH had going that forced the NFL to move the draft. Guess what? There is none. They had something scheduled called
Heart and Lights http://heartandlights.com/ but they rescheduled Heart and Lights for a year from now. It got cancelled March 21st. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
The NFL did this just so they'd be talked about more, which makes no sense. They could literally hold the draft a week after the SB, and they'd be the most talked about sport in the USA year round still.

For the record the hearts and lights event was scheduled but was cancelled last month.

For what it's worth, I believe the NFL mentioned that they needed more time to set up the stage and other logistics than RCMH could provide because of their recent Easter Show.
Having said that, my guess is the NFL is very happy to see how the ratings of the 2014 NFL Draft turn out during the highly important May ratings period.
Are more people going to watch it now than would have if they kept it at the regular date? People that watch the draft are amped up about it...but I can't see more people watching it just because they moved the date.
What in the Wide Wide World of Sports is agoin' on here???

For the more casual football fan, it will be interesting to see how much focus the Kentucky Derby coverage and event will take away from the NFL Draft focus? LOL You knew that film was a bust when Costner was on the talk show circuit to promote it and he kept repeating by rote that it really was a "couple friendly" film - and not "just for the guys." The NFL should have just been honest and say they want the draft in May so it's the halfway point between the Super Bowl and the Hall of Fame ceremony.
They don't want the NFL to not be in the news, so they are spreading out the offseason.

They had something scheduled calledThey had no idea how post-production on the pre-panned flick was gonna be. They had to cut the alien virus invasion from Cleveland death sequence as it was too intense. Wiping out the entire city of Pittsburgh just prior to their pick would hurt the box office, and the swill of humans wasting, meandering down the confluence to also wipe out Cincinnati was the wrong shade of puke green and also thought to mimic St. Patrick's Day festive happenings.
