On Bridgewater:

Mark Dominik, the former Buccaneers general manager who now serves as an analyst for ESPN, said on NFL Live that he doesn’t believe Bridgewater’s Pro Day is a problem so much as his skinny frame, as well as the fact that Bridgewater didn’t always look like an elite passer on tape.


“There were things you saw on tape when you watched him,” Dominik said. “Something that scouts internally, we talked about it in Tampa with Teddy Bridgewater last year. Is he really the premiere quarterback? I like the young man, I think he’s a quality individual, he’s got character and leadership and those things. But this is a quarterback, and you’re judged by what quarterback you draft, and I think Teddy Bridgewater might not have all the pieces you’re looking for.

On Manziel per rotoworld:

ESPN's Mark Dominik suggested on NFL Insiders that Texas A&M QB Johnny Manziel will "fall a little more than people think" in May's draft.


Dominik's thoughts are particularly interesting because he was GMing in the NFL as recently as this past January, and it's probably a safe bet that he still talks to a lot of people around the league. Dominik opined that Manziel could fall as far as the late first round, and suggested the Texans trading back into the latter part of the frame to acquire "Johnny Football." It's no secret that Texans owner Bob McNair is a big fan of Manziel's. Houston currently drafts at Nos. 1 and 33.

The only NFL guys who will put their name on it are the ones that we laugh at. It's either terrible ex NFL guy, or unnamed source. Yet the herd follow them to the ends of the world.

I think its funny to judge a guys opinion based on whether he has a job or not. He at one time was able to a get job that we are unable to get, so its not like the guy is completely oblivious, but it also doesn't mean he is right either. A lot of people on this board have said a QB shouldn't be drafted until late teens early 20s well before these guys even started talking.

 

I am still hoping for my dream scenario. Matthews at #3, and trading back in first for Manziel. We would have his Left Tackle, Center, and Right Tackle....and then HIM

 

Maybe even take his one of his security blankets in Derel Walker as a 3rd day pick or even sign as undrafted...

this is the guy who drafted josh freeman too. doesnt look like he was right about that QB. so i mean, just like anything. none of these guys can predict the future.

His draft history doesn't matter. He's relaying what his scouts told him during the season.

OK. and the point being is it doesnt matter what a scout thinks. they thought josh freeman was going to be great. scouts thought tom brady was going to be worthless. these players will get drafted where they get drafted and then its up to them to perform. where a scout has someone rated has no bearing on how good or bad they will be.

True, but he was primarily referring as to where these QBs could be drafted, not necessarily how good or bad they will be over their career.
