Well the good news is that we aren't overpaying players. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Given we probably have the 28th-30th ranked roster talentwise, 30th in salary seems about right,

It is a good sign though that the salary number coincides with the apparent talent level. If we were at our current state and had a higher average salary that would be pretty concerning. This is what happens when you blow up the roster and start with young players. As others have already said, that will change as the team continues to build.

NFL salaries don't mean much. It's all about the bonuses.
How else would Minnesota have the highest average salaries in the NFL, but rank 40+ spots behind the Jags in annual payroll? You know, the little blurb on the Jaguars ESPN site doesn't seem to match what's in the article. :turned: Quote:then why do the cowboys suckAs long as Jerrah channels the spirit of Al Davis, the poke's will blow. When they go down hard, they think about it! Just watch Peyton, Andrew, Caep even Mr. Bundchen. Quote:I would guess not having to pay a major QB 200 mill is a big reason. 200 million? Who makes that? They completely ignore that no other sport compares to football with the amount of players on the roster. They talk about how NBA salaries are much bigger. Well ya, they only have to pay five starters and they play about 70 more games. If you look at the total salaries, the NFL is right there with all other sports even though the total salary is capped. Assuming that everyone has around the same amount of players isn't this like a direct correlation to cap space available :turned:
Quote:This article seemed like it was trying to point out some kind of injustice to NFL players. Solid point. Spot on. From a physically demaning stand point though, it's the most taxing sport, especially when it comes to concussions. That's not to say that a 100+ fastball straight to the grill or body in general, or, going up 8ft in the air and coming down awkwardly isn't taxing as well, but, as far as overall salary and risk of injury, the NFL or football in general is at the bottom of the totem pole. With the exception of Rugby Players, God Bless those guys. THAT's a tough sport. And the pay in those leauges is a joke compared to the rest of the world. ![]() "What do I know of cultured ways, the gilt, the craft and the lie? Hockey players make more than NFL players? I've never seen terms on espn of a hockey deal.
