Who do we pick at 3...can't be the most common names

#1

I understand some people want Bridgewater, Manziel, Bortles, Clowney, Mack, or Watkins. I however am wondering if we might see someone other than one of those guys called. So lets just assume all those guys are not who Caldwell wants. Who could you see it being? (no trading down or up)

That pretty much only leaves Robinson and Matthews.  Is that what you mean?

Gilbert? I think CBs are more valuable than WRs, but not sure how good he is. Haven't been paying attention to DBs after last year

If we want a LEO-Barr.

If we want a QB-Carr.

I would be stunned if the team stays at 3 and one of those six is not the pick.

who has the best football name? that should be the pick. bust rate is obviously 91% on someone who doesnt have a good name.

Coughlin when asked if winning will be a focus: "What the hell else is there? This is nice and dandy, but winning is what all this is about."

Carr , Barr or Ford but those would be huge reaches .

A non common name at #3 would probably be a reach as already stated.

Someone mentioned a CB, and IMO this draft is deep at CB, as much as it is at WR. That being said, the Jags need both.

What is the draft not deep on????

Free Safety, and the Jags need a ball hawk BAD! A non common name at #3 and the commish sounds off and say.....

"With the #3 pick that Jags take, HA HA Clinton-Dix"

I think it'll end up being one of the common names.  Caldwell doesn't strike me as the type to think that will be drafting someone far out in left field in the Top 10.

But to play along with the topic: Dee Ford.

I was wrong about Trent Baalke.

In the post-Clowney pro day Bradley interview, he stated that they are picking at 3, and can not control the two picks before the Jags.  But, he did state with candidness that they are looking for "a guy with unique athleticism and traits" at that pick.  With this in mind to answer the topic, I would think an outside the box pick could be someone like Mike Evans.

This. If the Jaguars stay at three and don't pick one of those six guys, I'm going to fly out there and hang around the stadium for a couple of days, just to see if Gene Smith is sneaking out the back door.

The rest of the NFL would certainly be saying his name, and not because they're cheering for him Wink

He doesnt possess any unique physical traits and his only WR based one is high pointing the ball which hasnt been put to the test by NFL DBs and on a stage where he wont have a QB running for 6-7 seconds every play opening up holes in zones and allowing him to break away from man coverage.  I would be sick to my stomach if we took Evans at #3.

Trade down and get 2 fantastic players with less risk.

So youre pretty much asking who would we pick if we traded down to 8.
