How would you feel if?....

The Jags wind up executing either one or multiple trade downs, and wind up taking Mack or Barr, and then with later picks in the draft selecting both QB Jimmy Garoppolo + Aaron Murray?
I think one of those 2, if not both will turn out to be a very good QB in this league and the other would be a solid backup/ developmental QB. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
I would be ecstatic if this was to happen.
But its not as easy as it looks. Multiple trade downs in the same draft doesn't happen all too often and if you pass on a instant playmaker for an extra pick or two would it have been really worth it?

I have been warming up to the idea of top DE/LB/WR w/e in the 1st even without trade backs and then selecting multiple dev type QB prospects. I agree on both Garoppolo and Murray as well. Obviously this goes better if we can swing a trade back or two though I still think if a trade happens into the top 5 it will be with STL or even Houston over us.
Where do you think Garoppolo goes? I'm thinking Murray in the 4th? As a side note, I really hate spelling Garoppolo.
Not a fan of Garrapolo. Has too much Gabbert (pocket presence) in him.
I'd be good with Mack or Barr though. It would in part depend on how much we got in compensation for trading down. Initially I would be a little disappointed with no Clowney or Bridgewater. If the goal in Barr or Mack is to get a LEO I think I'd rather have Barr. I think between Murray and Garappolo we can have a decent QB, if we finish building around them. Worst to 1st. Curse Reversed!

If Clownet is off the board, I am all for trading down a few spots and picking up another pick or two. If we can trade down and still gets a Mack, Watkins, Manziel, or Teddy I would be ecstatic.
I dont like the idea of drafting 2 QBs

This situation would bring me a lot of joy. This situation is what I have been hoping for.

Quote:Not a fan of Garrapolo. Has too much Gabbert (pocket presence) in him. What I do like about this scenario is that both Murray + Garoppolo have 4 years of starting experience in college and thats one thing that many evaluators think does correlate to NFL success over many of their junior counterparts. Also I'm not sure I agree with the Gabbert pocket presence comparison,....but the one stark difference between Garoppolo and Gabbert in college was production. Gabbert put up very pedestrian numbers, especially in his final college season. At least Garoppolo lit it up.
What do people like about Aaron Murray?
I do feel QBs that are currently injured tend to not get scrutinized as much. Everyone thinks they will get a "steal" when they draft Murray because they think they are getting them much lower than they would have been if they were fully healthy. But my question is honestly - what are his positive traits? Does he have an NFL arm?

Quote:What do people like about Aaron Murray? Most of what I've seen from him is from youtube, but he's flinging the rock up and down the field on those vids....He doesn't seem to have any "rag arm" to me. His YPA has been consistently high too, which mirrors what I see in that footage. Not sure why so many people trash this player. He's a bit smaller than you'd like, and I have also heard the knock that he came up small in a couple key games...but as a developmental guy, I think you can clearly do worse.

Will be interesting to see his pro day. I'm OK with drafting one developmental guy, but not two. Two developmental guys behind Henne doesn't make sense, IMO. One will not get enough playing time/opportunity

Quote:Typical TMD: YouTube and stats. To be fair, what else can we look at? We don't have access to coaches tape for college games, so we rely on what we see on TV and youtube. To his credit, TMD never has claimed to be an amateur draft guru like some here.

We could get Clowney and still draft both of them in their appropriate rounds if we really wanted them.
THERE IS A SKELETON INSIDE OF YOU.
RIGHT NOW. THIS IS NOT A JOKE. |
