Story that I found interesting about current and past era baseball autographs

I thought this story from the New York Times was interesting.  If you click on the link they have several autographed baseballs from current era players and it is literally impossible to discern who is who.  Then they show you pictures of ones from Babe Ruth and Harmon Killebrew and you can then see how different the autograph has become.  I'm sure that it has become this way in all sports, not only baseball.  I found the part about how Killebrew, before his passing, watched young Twins players signing their autographs and if it wasn't legible he would make certain they corrected their penmanship.  I love stories like this, combining the current and the past and this was something I hadn't thought about.  The players today do sign a tremendous amount of autographs and I'm sure it has become difficult to be sure that every signature is a good one.  They've signed so many things that it has lost its importance.

This all leads to me being excited for baseball season to be here!  Despite being a Cubs fan, I still enjoy baseball.   :woot:
