Odd draft scenario
|
Watkins and Clowney go 1 & 2. The Jaguars aren't interested in any of the QBs or LBs at #3, and can't trade down. Who is their pick?

Actually, that is becoming a likely scenario. I would hope one of the 3 QBs would grade out as a top 3 on their board. Maybe they go Mack although he is OLB.

I think they will take the guy they want there...whether QB or LB. If they aren't interested in an OL or DL there, they won't take one. No DB is worth a top ten pick, IMO. Worst to 1st. Quote:I don't get it. What's the problem here? They take Mack. If Mack were an option, i wouldn't even have made this thread.
Problem is someone would trade up to get the lineman.
But under your scenerio I would go Robinson then Ebron or Evans We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Quote:Problem is someone would trade up to get the lineman. I never said it was likely, but it could happen. It's both possible they aren't high on the QBs, and it's possible they don't see Mack and Barr as impact players worth taking at #3, or maybe just not fits in their system. If no OT is taken by #3 there are 3 or 4 top 10 caliber tackles left and maybe a team doesn't feel the need to trade up. As for Robinson, they may have decided they flat out aren't taking a tackle. I don't know much about Ebron, but if they believe he's a Graham/Gronkowski caliber player you never know. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
If Caldwell can't find a player he likes at three overall, I would greatly appreciate it if he would fire himself.
Since Mack is off the board in your scenario then you look at Jake Mathews and Justin Gilbert. Dave said we wont take another Tackle high but your scenario handcuffs us a little bit...Since im assuming Houston takes Clowney and we would have to face him and Watt twice a year, Id prefer to have another stud tackle. Mathews played right side while Joeckel manned the left in college, no reason they cant do it again....
Given the other option, we go get Justin Gilbert way too early. Not what I would like but your scenario. I dont think you take Ebron because he doesnt possess elite speed. If he did then I would think that is the choice. Please no Mike Evans!
