Lol I know this would never happen, but it's a forum board let's have some fun!

If you where the jags would you trade the number 3 pick for cam newton knowing you will have to pay him big money next year?

I would. I think Cam is a franchise level QB with the legit possibility of becoming one of the game's best by the time he peaks.

He's had very little at WR over these years and still has managed to improve to the very good season he had this year.

If Newton had Blackmon, Shorts, Ace and say one of a Devante Adams/ Jordan Matthews/ Kelvin Benjamin or Troy Niklas, who could be got with our 2nd rounder, he's put up monster numbers, IMO.

Cam is easily worth a first round pick, he's a very good player.

I'd love cam and would do it in a heartbeat but just have to think he's going to want some big time money this time next year

Would absolutely do it. It would be pretty much understood that he would be getting a big contract from whatever team retains him or picks him up.

Carolina would want more than just the 3rd pick.

Yes.

Without hesitation yes I would, that trade would lack plenty of value on the Carolina side though.  Cam would garner more than one 1st round pick.

It would probably cost us the equivalent of what the Redskins paid to trade up for RG3 if not more.

Yes but still unrealistic.

Maybe if he would improve his sideline demeanor. I'd rather not see my franchise QB crying with a towel over his head. He may be the most physically gifted QB in the NFL, I like his deepball, and he's improved his decisionmaking

If the only thing we have to give up is a 1st this year, and you say no to that trade.....you will never be an NFL gm.
