Donald Brown signs with San Diego for Gerhart money

#1

So, that kinda proves that Gerharts deal was reasonable. I'd imagine both will receive similar workloads with their new teams. As a matter of fact Gerhart might receive a bigger workload since the Bolts still have Mathews, at least until his first injury of 2014 which usually occurs by week 2 or 3.

Woodhead is very solid too. No way Brown has the impact Gerhart does.

I'm not sure why some would question the Toby Gerhart deal.    The Jaguars have tons of salary cap space and they signed a RB that's very capable of being part of a 1-2 punch at the position.   Especially when considering Gerhart's versatile RB skills.    The price of the contract is in the ballpark with the contracts Joique Bell and Donald Brown signed yesterday.

I thought Danny Woodhead was the missing piece at RB for the Chargers since the time they foolishly undervalued Darren Sproles.   He was one of the top FA performers from last year's FA crop.   Great addition by the Bolts!    Without Woodhead,  they don't even come close to making the playoffs.

I dont know why but I always liked Donald Browns game.  He just hasn't been consistent and usually has little nagging injuries

Ditto.  I'm not sure I've seen a Jags fan that has, so I'm unsure where that's coming from.

This. ^

I'm moderately excited about the Gerhart signing.   I can see Fisch drawing up some creative plays to utilize his catching ability.

(direct snap to Robinson - hits Gerhart on wheel route :teehee: )

It proves that Toby is a backup like I said all along, we will find our starter in the draft

Donald Brown's contract makes Gerhart look like a steal.

Possible. I think if the right guy is there on the third day, we could see Caldwell take one. But he definitely is not in position where he has to.

Donald Brown and Woodhead will make a decent tandem. I don't count Matthews because I'm sure he will go down in the first few weeks. Now that Brown is out of the division, I wish him luck. He always seems to be pretty decent and then would make a run or two that would be pretty amazing.
