Yep, that Carl Smith. He just coached up a Super Bowl winner in Russell Wilson. Head - a'splosioned.

Fine QB coach, not good enough to be a really good OC. There are so many examples of this throughout the league its not even funny. Our former Bill Musgrave is yet another, and in an identical capacity comparison.
One thing I used to find funny when Carl Smith was the OC and Mike Smith was the DC is how the two were polar opposites. At team functions, Mike Smith would be there well dressed, short hair, looking like a guy who is ex-military. Carl Smith would be there with this goofy unkempt curly mop, Hawaiian shirt, looking like a guy who should be singing karaoke at the Monkey's Uncle.

Pete Rodrigurz was the perfect middle ground on the Carl Smith/Mike Smith spectrum.
