I actually thought it was pretty clever although I'm fairly optimistic about Luke.

You could have added Derrick Harvey, Byron Leftwich, Matt Jones, Reggie Williams, and RJ Soward quite easily to the list. I am not an advocate for giving up a first round pick, but the 1st round picking prowess of the organization has been less than stellar.

Just for fun (and assuming you could find trade partners), in viewing a trade chart for the value of the 3rd pick (2200 pts) and the average 2nd round value (420 pts), Caldwell's 1st round pick might net five 2nd round selections in this year's draft. That would give the Jags 6 2nd round picks total!

Maybe they need to draft Pamela Anderson. She's a HUGE bust.
I'm trying to make myself more informed and less opinionated.

Stop saying whatever stupid thing you're talking about and pay attention to all the interesting things I have to say!

No we need 4th rounders, that's where we get out better players (Cecil/Sanders etc)

How can you call Blackmon and Joeckel  busts?

When playing Blackmon has improved somewhat. Hopefully he's done partying like a rockstar and ready to play football.  Joeckel is going to be a stud on the O-line.  You were on point with Gabbert though.

I don't think you got the joke. Although it doesn't matter how good Blackmon and Joeckel are if they can't play.

He does have a point though. If you look at the history of our first round selections. Three things always seem to occur, number one, they're elite at their positions, but can't seem to stay healthy enough to be a consistent factor, i.e, Tony Boselli and Fred Taylor. Number two, they're decent, but somewhat inconsistent, but not really game changing. i.e, Donovin Darius, Reggie Nelson, Renaldo Wynn and Fernando Bryant. And then lastly, number three, they just can't seem to get right off the field with the personal problems, i.e, R.J Soward, Reggie Williams, Matt Jones, Justin Blackmon, etc.

We can't get it right in the first round. I have been saying this now since I was a freshman in highschool, "It wouldn't hurt my feelings right now if Jacksonville just traded down or completely out of the first round with somebody" on every single draftday when our logo pops up on the time clock.
