For those who don't know, pretty interesting link talking about what scouts look for in workouts and position drills.

I saw that, but still needed to watch the 3 cone drill on TV to fully understand it.

Why not go out in the backyard and try it?

Then maybe you can appreciate what the drill is all about?

Not necessary. I just need to see players do it.

Sometimes things don't make sense until you try it.

The 3-cone drill is there to demonstrate the athlete's squat, flexibility, change of direction, complex speed, balance, and ability to stay on task. The drill is timed so you have to be quick, but not hurry.

My problem was not being able to picture it in my head.

That is not exactly how I would phrase it.

Jungle Cat just does not know how to communicate with me.

These scouts act like its a science that can be observed and predicted based on player attributes, but year after year the draft proves to be anything but predictable. These scouts know nothing more than the average hardcore football fan.

The only difference is they get paid to sit and watch all day.

Where did you get that idea from? They know a lot that we don't even care about.
