What's next for Michael Vick?
|
Where do you guys think he's headed?
Free agent, probably one of the most physically gifted players in NFL history, but old and oft-injured at this point. Who do you think will take the flier?

It's kinda hard to tell where he might land. He thinks he can still be a starter, but I'm not so sure.
I'm gonna guess he goes to either the Bills or Rams. Manuel was oft injured last year and they had no names backing him up, so he could be a nice player to have for them there. The Rams hope Bradford is able to come back in time from his ACL injury, but if not, Vick could slide in until he's ready.

Cleveland.
...Which will no doubt start a wave of Dog Pound jokes.
I was wrong about Trent Baalke.
If he could last longer than three games before getting injured I'd say take a shot. He's too injury prone at this point.

Quote:Im not suggesting he be our only option. If we're going to draft a qb and possibly bring back Henne, I just dont think he is a distraction the Jags need. I think he could help the team win some games but he's really, really injury prone. We have to have a franchise QB waiting behind him for when he inevitably goes down. But there's no doubt he can win us games if we did choose to take a flier on him.
And talk about a guy who can tell a cautionary tale. Hell, he could probably help Justin Blackmon with that.

Quote:Why not here?If we don't get a QB in the first round, this is one of the things I think might happen. Vick is a really decent stop-gag IMO. He is no longer a top flight QB, but he is still an above average starter in this league when healthy, and far better than the other options out there in FA. One could argue Josh McCown, but who knows how much of last years magic he will be able to recreate (after all, he was really only ever good last year, and basically Chad Henne level before that.) Yes, it's improvement, but it's Blaine Gabbert 2012 level improvement. - Pirkster The Home Hypnotist! Media on the Brain Link! Quote:Peyton must store oxygen in that forehead of his. I'd love to see him here. Pick up Clowney and a QB in the 2nd/3rd and get Vick for next year. Probably be the most excited for an upcoming season I've been since the magical early years.
Titansequaltrash aka my mini me. Follows me around like a cute puppy dog.
The Raiders seem like a team that would be interested depending on how they like Pryor.
I don't think the Bills will go after him. They were a speculated team when he first came back to the NFL and they didn't bite then. No reason to now considering his age.
Just saw that Shaun Hill is a FA too, this would be another guy I would take a look at if we didn't get a QB in the first round. Not as good as Vick, but he has been better consistently than McCown. Would be an upgrade for us.

He'd be nice to have, with the expectation we'll bring on at least one young QB to groom in the wings.

Surprised by how many people are pro-Vick. I guess this board isn't entirely full of people who'll say "No thanks" to any single move regarding a controversial player in an attempt to come off as a conservative armchair GM.

I'm sure someone will bring him to camp, but I'm not really interested in seeing him in Jax. He may be good for some serious flash in a few games before getting injured again - but I don't see him making a longterm impact.
If Caldwell decides to wait until the third or fourth round to take a QB - I guess it wouldn't hurt to have him around if he comes cheap enough. I figure his agent will get him more than he's worth elsewhere though.
