I love this crap. The draft and free agency haven't even occurred yet. There's no telling what the team is even going to look like.

That's why you bet now before the odds change after.

Carolina at 20/1 is really tempting.

Bet now? Looking at last years' team you think 100/1 is a good bet to take? I don't.

100 dollars to win 10k? We showed a ton of improvement towards the end of the year and maybe we get a qb and a pass rusher in free agency.

Odds are I won't win this bet but why not? I should be able to cover 100 dollars on other games during the year. If I don't, well RIP.

I'm going to Vegas next month, I'll drop $10-$20 on it.  Why not?

I hit the Saints superbowl win a few years ago.  Had $10 on them to win the NFC at 35-1 and $20 on them to win the Superbowl at at 60-1.    Risked 30, collected over $1500.

Exactly. Low risk high potential. If you have some extra cash then why not take a gamble?

Super Bowl? We talking about Super Bowl? Super Bowl? Were just trying to win a game.

100/1 aren't even good enough odds to make the playoffs.

That's why this is such a tempting gamble.

We were 300:1 for the past season last July.

Nope, not at all.  At least not talking superbowl as in expecting the Jags to be there.  Just saying at those odds, why not take a flyer?  Think about it.  $10 basically covers a beer in the stadium, so I can walk into the book at LVH next month, place my $10 wager on the Jags at 100-1 odds and drink a couple of free beers while there.  So, if nothing else, I'll drink $10 worth of beer for my investment and IF the unexpected does happen, I cash in a nice payday.   Why not?

Now, if we were talking thousands of dollars, no, that would not be a bet I would make.

Exactly. That what I'm saying. The odds should be higher.

You are just flushing $10 in this case. I would want at least 400:1 to even put down a $1 bet because it is still like flushing a dollar down the toilet.

I would take a flier on 100:1 to make the playoffs, but beyond that is just insane and not even in the realm of the word "gamble" IMO.

Someone will say we have a 1:32 chance which we do, but it is ohhh so much worse than that in reality.

You can get 1,000,000 to 1 odds and you will still lose...Caldwell and Bradley are doing a great job, however, the Jags will not even make the playoffs next year.

Maybe in 2 years, but not next year.

I will put money on that also.

Failure is not an option. 2nd place = 1st loser.
