Bernie Kosar calls QB Teddy Bridgewater a "fantastic quarterback and young man"

#1

The portion of the video regarding Bernie Kosar's comments about Teddy Bridgewater begins at around the 3 minute mark.

While one can say that Kosar has a natural bias towards Teddy Bridgewater because of their Miami area connections,  Kosar is the type of person who will often say what's on his mind even if it's not popular.   As someone who doesn't have a strong opinion about Bridgewater one way or the other,   Kosar's comments caught my attention.

Why is he insane?  Because it doesn't really matter what Bernie says about Teddy to him?

Came across like he had a problem with Bernie or Teddy or both

YAY!  I am going to trust the word of a message board poster because of all of his accomplishments.  Oh wait, they didn't do much.  Nevermind.  I've never seen your name as one of the great talent evalutator evaluators of our time.

I was wrong about Trent Baalke.

I think the message was intended for the Cleveland area quarterback market, no?

Kosar was an NFL QB for over a decade. He took Cleveland to three AFC championship games and made the Pro Bowl when it still meant something.

Though he is no GM, I'd say he knows more about the position than everyone on this message board combined.

He has also taken more hits to the head than the average HW boxer and he sounds like it too. He could be the poster boy for the NFLs concussion policy.

That said, I'm sure Teddy is a terrific guy and he obviously has all the skills. Nothing left to do now but wait and see.

Those who don't think Bernie was a good QB are either to young or just never saw him play

You don't have to be a hall of famer to know what you're talking about. Kosar wasn't great, but neither were a majority of talent evaluators out there.

Bernie Kosar might be the most overachieving QB of all time.  His mental acumen compensated for physical capabilities below his peers, and with the possible exception of Ernest Byner, may be the best offensive player on the Browns team in the Super Bowl era.

Yes, he knows a thing or two about the position.  I'd love to hear his take on the other QBs in the draft.

Because, y'know, there ARE other QBs in this draft.

It's either Teddy or Garoppolo

Fitting, I guess, because Kosar was a much better college player.

Odds are Bernie has a piece of Teddy, and his comments directed at the Cleveland Browns audience are just that.

But he's a Browns' analyst.

If he had a financial interest in Bridgewater (as you seem to imply), wouldn't it behoove him for Bridgewater to go higher than 4, even if it meant he wouldn't go to the Browns?

If he didn't think Bridgewater could actually play at a high level in the NFL, why would he have any financial interest in him?  What would that do for his credibility as a Browns analyst to take a strong stance in favor of an inferior player?

If you don't think Bridgewater is an elite prospect, fine.

But this particular criticism of Kosar because he may disagree with your analysis makes no sense at all...unless I have misinterpreted your line about Kosar having "a piece of Teddy."  If I have misinterpreted that line, I apologize and welcome clarification from you.
