Richard Sherman on the people who call him "Thug"

#41

Justin Bieber is more of "thug" then Sherman, he manipulates people into getting what he wants, looks like a fool doing it, and has never worked a real job in his life.

Seems like jealousy to me.

I think it's people not understanding what a thug really is. People think of thug as synonymous with tough and dangerous, when really it's synonymous with lazy and manipulative.

some of the toughest people I've meet in life are the farthest thing from a thug.

Having a big ego doesn't make a person a thug.

Quote:So Richard Sherman is a violent criminal in your opinion, JW?

No, I did not say that. I said "thug-like behavior." Specifically, the taunt was a choke sign. Choking someone else is being a violent criminal.

I was the first board member to mention that. Richard Sherman's comments to Michael Crabtree were just part of the rivalry. But I stand by my comment that the taunt was crossing the line.

Not a thug. Just a classless braying donkey who happens to be a very talented athlete.

Whatever he is, I think we can now officially call the Seahawks/49ers rivalry the nastiest in the NFL.

Quote:A Thug to me is the guy on the corner that refuses to make an honest living and either steals what he wants/needs or manipulates others to provide it for him. Being a hot head does not make you a thug.

Not to go all political, but wouldn't this make every government with entitlements/taxation thugs?

All I have to say is:

If you walk the walk then you can talk the talk.

Sherman is a beast.

Talking the talk is fine, but taunting is not - especially the way he did it.

There is alot of political correctness in this thread.

A black person who Dreads with grillz on the bottom row driving a Camero or Challenger going to the store but has never been in trouble with the law is stereotyped as a thug.

Whether someone has a liberal, or conservative viewpoint, a authoritative figure should not lock a thread for the sole purpose to get the last word in all the while prohibiting someone else from being able to respond.

True but you have to ask....exactly what look was that person actually going for?

If a young white female with large breast and long healthy legs walks outside wearing only a bikini top and a mini skirt to the mall what would you call her?

You call it like you see it. No one bothers to ask what she does for a living. But to fill you in she's a Harvard law grad who graduated at the top of her class and is now a junior partner at a local law firm.

If a young white female with large breast and long healthy legs walks outside wearing nothing but a bikini top and a mini skirt to the mall what would you call her? Nothing, because I dont know the life events that led to her dressing that way. She could be dressing for attention, dressing to show off her body, etc nobody knows until she tells you who she is as a person.

The point is this world is full of stereotypes whether we agree that its right or wrong unfortunately the truth to the matter is, it is what it is. The person does have SOME say though in how he or she is viewed by the onlookers.

And whoever is stereotyping someone based off of appearance is ignorant themselves.

The point in relation to this thread is Sherman helped cement in some people minds that African Americans are loud, ignorant, and cant control themselves. He caused that by his verbal actions.

I agree to an extent but I doubt a 20 second comment added any ammo to someone else's already ignorant view, at least not in today's world.
