Was the FAU coach fired?

Lane Kiffin is a great OC but has spotty success as a HC.

I would think Kiffin is trying for a bigger target. I don't buy this one.

Yeah I don't know why he would take the FAU job.

After what he did in tenn that made the vols suffer for years.  He does not deserve to ever be a hc anywhere ever again.

From Bunnie's link:

Update: ESPN's Kirk Herbstreit reported Saturday morning on "College GameDay" that Kiffin had a deal in place with an unidentified school but that talks ultimately broke down. Herbstreit would not reval the school, which was widely reported Friday as Florida Atlantic, nor the reason talks broke down.

From youngest NFL HC to possibly taking the HC job at FAU. How the mighty have fallen.

Had to be about the money...probably wanted way more than FAU wanted to pay.

To be expected from a guy whose previous jobs were in the NFL, Pacific 12, and SEC.

He wasn't very successful at any of those postions, he might think he's worth more than anyone is willing to pay.

Nope. He is made to just be an OC.

I think lane would be smart to just get an OK job in the NFL. Stick with a team for a few years and produce. Show that he can be stable and reliable and then try to get a head coach gig from there.

He's a brilliant offensive mind but his reputation for jumping ship is hurting him.
Coughlin when asked if winning will be a focus: "What the hell else is there? This is nice and dandy, but winning is what all this is about."
