What happened to Tajh Boyd?

I remember before the season started it seemed like him and Teddy were 1a and 1b

Quote:I remember before the season started it seemed like him and Teddy were 1a and 1bThat was coming off the high of his incredible bowl game against LSU last year. Then people went back and studied his cutups more and realized he was just ok, especially considering his insane skill position weapons. Then this season went along and it was more of the same inconsistent up and down up and down. He's still an ok prospect but not a top 6 or so QB prospect in this class anymore.
He lost Deandre Hopkins. As good as Sammy Watkins is, Deandre Hopkins was better. Deandre bailed Tajh out a lot because he could catch anything thrown his way and he ran excellent routes. Martavious Bryant and Mike Williams haven't been able to fill the void left by Hopkins. Add to that they haven't had an elite TE since Dwayne Allen (Seckinger is terrible) and the running game has suffered since Andre Ellington left.
10 years ago we had Bob Hope, Johnny Cash, and Steve Jobs..... Please don't die, Kevin Bacon.

I personally think he could be a steal if we were to get him in the third. I love this kid he does need to improve his reads but leadership and athleticism are second to none and 38 Tds 11 pics for his senior year is also pretty good although his two worst games were against the two real defenses fsu and sc
He is raw but man is he athletic. He is the guy you draft to sit for a year or two. As onboard as id be with him in the 3rd we dont have the luxury of doing that

I hope whoever we pick does not make mistakes like the ones that resulted in his first interception. That pass was ugly.

Quote:3rd round at best. Nothing special. I don't want a quarterback later than the second round.
I read somewhere that a lot of his stats are from screens or short passes. Personally I don't think he's going to be all that good. Never really thought he would to begin with.

Never really thought he would to begin with. It's true, and it was especially true today. Shockingly so. @ESPNStatsInfo: Boyd's average pass distance was 2.9 air yards downfield. 350 of his 378 pass yards were after the catch #CLEMvsOSU We show less advertisements to registered users. Quote:I remember before the season started it seemed like him and Teddy were 1a and 1b From the sound of things, apparently Boyd mastered the art of the five-yard bomb. The most vivid memory of the five-yard bomb specialist I have is former University of Miami QB Gino Torretta. Was credited with winning two national championships and a Heisman Trophy. All he did was throw a forward pass three yards and watch track guys like Wesley Carroll, Lamar Thomas, or Horace Copeland jet away. Somebody took a shot at drafting Gino, but he never took a regular season snap in the NFL, if I recall it well.

Clowney in RD1/Boyd in RD2

Quote:It's true, and it was especially true today. Shockingly so. That isn't even close to accurate. He had two bombs to Watkins and that's just off the top. They really should fact check that kind of stuff. Quote:Clowney in RD1/Boyd in RD2 I endorse this message.
LEONARD FOURNETTE FAN CLUB PRESIDENT. I WAS BEHIND HIM WHEN YOU ALL SAID HE WAS BRANDON JACOBS. QUIT HATING ON THE JAGUARS. GUS IS GONE. COUGHLIN HAS RESTORED ORDER. FOURNETTE IS FRED TAYLOR. DONT BELIEVE ME JUST WATCH.
Trade 3 to Cleveland for their #1 and Indy's:
1. Watkins 1. Dennard 2. Beasley/Jernigan 3. Mettenberger/Boyd/McCarron 4. Hyde or Andre Williams 4. Stork 5. Jackson (OG- FSU) 5. Fales/Garoppolo 5. Barnett (DT- OkSt) 6. TE- Joe Don Duncan (b/c he has a great name for a TE) 7. Dan LeFevour/Mike Reilly (J/K TMD, Reilly is still in the CFL and put up good numbers this year for the Edmonton Eskimos)
Season Ticket holder since 2004.

They really should fact check that kind of stuff. It seems very plausible to me. I know that 10 of Watkins catches came behind the line of scrimmage, 4 were in the 0-9 yard range, and the two 'bombs' were 30 and 31 yards aDOT. That would average out to right around 3 aDOT, and that's including his two deepest throws on the night.
Quote:It seems very plausible to me. Maybe. I can tell you with 100% certainty that the "350 of 378" portion of that, is complete garbage. He threw two TD's of 30 and 31, so that would prove that false in itself.
